The Notable Injured

Baker Mayfield | QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (OUT)

Baker Mayfield sustained a thumb injury in Week 3, which will sideline him for several games. In his place, undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels will start under center for the Buccaneers. Daniels had a rough “welcome to the NFL” moment last week against a tough Vikings defense, failing to complete a pass and throwing an interception. He will look to rebound against a soft Packers defense in hopes of sustaining the fantasy viability of the remaining Buccaneers offense.

Jayden Daniels | QB, Washington Commanders (OUT)

Despite flying to London for the Commanders’ Week 4 contest against the Colts, Daniels will miss his second consecutive game with a non-throwing elbow injury. Daniels has opted not to have surgery, which means he will return at some point this season. In his absence last week, Marcus Mariota threw for 183 yards and three passing touchdowns, finishing as the QB14 on the week with 20.4 fantasy points. However, he will be without top receiver Terry McLaurin, who was a late add to the injury report this week with a hamstring injury.

Caleb Williams | QB, Chicago Bears (OUT)

Caleb Williams will miss his second consecutive contest with a hamstring injury. Case Keenum started for the Bears last week and improbably finished as the QB3 on the week against a tough Eagles defense. It is reported that the Bears are now turning to Tyson Bagent this week, with Bagent fully recovered from a concussion. Bagent is an interesting streaming option against the Jets.

De’Von Achane | RB, Miami Dolphins (OUT)

De’Von Achane tore his ACL last week and is now out for the remainder of the season. Ollie Gordon II operated as the Dolphins’ bell-cow back after Achane’s injury. He saw 17 carries and three targets, scoring 14.5 fantasy points. Gordon’s teammate Jaylen Wright missed last week’s game with a foot injury and a stinger. He is set to return in Week 4 and will likely be in a true committee with Gordon. Without the electric Achane, this offense will be hobbled. Gordon and Wright are desperation RB plays.

Travis Etienne | RB, New Orleans Saints (IR)

Travis Etienne injured his hamstring in Week 3 and was subsequently placed on IR. The committee of veteran Alvin Kamara and Kendre Miller should carry the Saints’ backfield in Etienne’s absence. Last week, after Etienne’s injury, Kamara saw the majority of opportunities with nine carries and one target. However, Miller was not that far behind with four carries and three targets. Look for an even split this week against the Falcons. Both backs are in flex play territory.

Breece Hall | RB, New York Jets (OUT)

Breece Hall suffered a quad injury in Week 3 and is officially out this week. After Hall sustained the injury, it was the Braelon Allen show in the Jets’ backfield, as Allen was the only other running back on the Jets roster to see a touch. Allen has a great matchup against a run-funnel Bears defense. He is a no-doubt fantasy starter in Hall’s absence. Allen’s running back teammate, Isaiah Davis, remains a name to monitor as he will likely spell Allen at times this Sunday.

Justin Jefferson | WR, Minnesota Vikings (OUT)

Justin Jefferson sustained an ankle injury in Week 3 and will sit out this week. The entire Vikings offense is downgraded with Jefferson’s absence. However, Jordan Addison appears poised to step in as the Vikings’ top receiver. After all, he led Minnesota with nine targets last week. Addison is a must-start in an exploitable matchup against the Dolphins.

DeVonta Smith | WR, Philadelphia Eagles (OUT)

DeVonta Smith is ruled out for Week 4 with a hamstring injury. The Eagles’ receiving room is barren in his absence. Veteran Marquise Brown is also slated to miss this game. This leaves Dontayvion Wicks and rookie Makai Lemon as the last men standing in the Eagles receiving room. Lemon did see a season-high 46 air yards last week against the Bears, suggesting that the Eagles may be expanding his route tree beyond usage near the line of scrimmage. Perhaps this could be a true breakout game for the first-round pick with little left on the depth chart between Lemon and solid opportunity.

RB Quick Hitters

Rachaad White | RB, Washington Commanders (OUT) – White is out with a shoulder injury. Jacory Croskey-Merritt saw 19 carries and one target last week while White attempted to play through this injury. Look for “Bill” to be the Commanders’ bell cow again. The newly signed veteran Austin Ekeler will likely ease into a receiving role out of the backfield if White’s absence is extended.

Jadarian Price | RB, Seattle Seahawks (OUT) –First-round rookie Jadarian Price is out for Week 4 after aggravating a chest/shoulder injury. Emmanuel Wilson and George Holani will form a one-two punch for the Seahawks running game. Wilson profiles as the early-down grinder for the Seahawks, with Holani as a preferred play in PPR formats.

WR Quick Hitters

Terry McLaurin | WR, Washington Commanders (OUT) – Terry McLaurin was a late add to the injury report this week, popping up with a hamstring injury on Friday. Look for veteran Stefon Diggs and rookie Antonio Williams to see an uptick in targets in McLaurin’s absence.

Zay Flowers | WR, Baltimore Ravens (QUESTIONABLE) – Zay Flowers played last week after returning from a hamstring injury. He is likely to play this week through the “questionable” tag. If he is active, you start him. Simple as that.

Ladd McConkey | WR, Los Angeles Chargers (QUESTIONABLE) – Ladd McConkey is questionable with a foot injury. It has been a rough start to the season for the Chargers offense. However, McConkey is a player you have to start if he is active, given his role as Justin Herbert‘s top receiving weapon.

Mike Evans | WR, San Francisco 49ers (QUESTIONABLE) – Last week, Evans left the 49ers’ win against the Arizona Cardinals early due to a rib injury. This was the second game in a row Evans exited early. Evans is considered a true game-time decision. If he starts, he should be in your lineup.

Jalen Coker | WR, Carolina Panthers (QUESTIONABLE) – Jalen Coker was able to get in two limited practices this week despite a quad injury. His status remains up in the air for Sunday against a Lions defense that is very exploitable. As fantasy’s WR11 in points per game, Coker is a must-start in this plus matchup if active.

Caleb Douglas | WR, Miami Dolphins (OUT) – Caleb Douglas will miss his second game with an ankle injury. Chris Bell stepped up with Douglas off the field, seeing a season-high 71.6% snap share and seven targets. Look for this trend to continue with Douglas missing Week 4.

Adonai Mitchell | WR, New York Jets (OUT) – AD Mitchell will miss his second consecutive game with a finger injury. Garrett Wilson will vacuum up the targets in his absence.

TE Quick Hitters

Terrance Ferguson | TE, Los Angeles Rams (IR) – Terrance Ferguson injured his ankle last week and will miss the next four games. In his stead, Tyler Higbee finished with 20.2 fantasy points on 11 targets. Puka Nacua is set to return this week. It will be hard to trust any Rams tight end, as Nacua and Adams are in line for massive volume.

Dallas Goedert | TE, Philadelphia Eagles (OUT) – Dallas Goedert will miss his second game of the season due to a knee injury. The Eagles signed Zach Ertz out of retirement, and he saw almost 40% of the snaps last week. His usage will likely continue to ramp up in Goedert’s absence.

Charlie Kolar | TE, Los Angeles Chargers (OUT) – With Kolar out and David Njoku on injured reserve, Oronde Gadsden II was thought to be in a great spot. However, after failing to score any points last week, Gadsden is clearly not viewed by the Chargers as he is by the fantasy community. He is nothing but a desperation start.

Mason Taylor | TE, New York Jets (OUT) – Taylor will miss his second straight game as a result of a thumb injury. In his absence last week, Kenyon Sadiq had a breakout game, scoring 23.5 fantasy points on 105 yards receiving, seven receptions, and a touchdown. Look for Sadiq’s breakout to continue this week against the Bears.
