Fantasy owners would be wrong to think Michael Crabtree can’t match his 2015 numbers this season.

Still in his prime, as part of an ascendant offense, Crabtree should easily duplicate his 2015 numbers. That makes him a much better value than Cooper, who is being drafted more than 50 picks earlier.

Prior to Foster’s derailed 2015 campaign, the perennial top-5 fantasy RB posted 21.3 fantasy points per game in 2014, a number that would have led all fantasy football running backs in 2015.

Arian Foster is one of the best value running backs in fantasy football and will benefit from numerous trigger events in the weeks ahead.

Despite enduring and echoing failure, Gabbert, a made-for-television quarterback, looks out of place next to these doomed figurines. Blaine Gabbert still has a chance at a late-career ascension, fantasy football relevance, and professional redemption.

We can stop acting like Leonte Carroo was drafted by the 2013 Denver Broncos. Miami had one startable receiver last season, and that receiver occupies the bottom-tiers of both efficiency and athleticism. The other hurdles to Carroo’s success are an as-yet unproven and often-injured first rounder, and a speedy journeyman with no identity on this offense.

Leonte Carroo is going to ascend. He basically has to. When a historically dominant prospect falls to a team that absolutely loves him, we need to pay attention no matter who is standing in the way. In this case, Carroo’s closest competition may prove to be little more than bear food. “Reach” for him at the end of the first round, try not to get bitten in the process, and laugh all the way to the bank in seasons to come.

With the NFL becoming more of a passing league every year, it’s no surprise that the ascendance of running backs who specialize in catching passes is being felt throughout the fantasy football landscape. Over the last three seasons, backs receiving a higher percentage of touches through the air than on the ground have been more fantasy viable than ever.

With fantasy football trending in the direction of Zero RB and reality football trending in the direction of pass-catching backs, rookies like Wendell Smallwood, DeAndre Washington and Kenyan Drake have a real chance of being fantasy-useful early on in their careers. These kinds of players are known as Profile 2 RBs, per Rotoviz, and could become potential league-winners if given sufficient opportunity.
