Stock Trending Up

Zach Wilson – QB New York Jets

Second overall pick, Zach Wilson completed 23 of 38 pass attempts for 226 yards and three touchdowns (one rushing) in Week 13 versus the Eagles. Earning Rookie of the Week honors for the second time, Wilson delivered a QB6 fantasy day (22.0 fantasy points) – the best of his young career.

In eight games, Wilson has 1,539 (No. 29 among qualified quarterbacks) passing yards and six (No. 32) touchdowns. Despite 11 interceptions, he has a 7.9 (No. 6) Accuracy Rating, which leads all rookie signal callers. With the Saints on tap in Week 14, Wilson looks to build on the strides he’s made since returning from a four game injury hiatus. His dynasty stock gains a position leading 6.19 Lifetime Value points to rise two spots to QB20.

Josh Jacobs – RB Las Vegas Raiders

In 10 games, Josh Jacobs has 124 carries (No. 26) for 472 yards (No. 29) and seven total touchdowns (No. 11). He’s posted a double digit fantasy total (RB30 or better) in nine of 10 contests, averaging 15.2 Fantasy Points Per Game (RB16) this season. This output is nearly identical to 2020 when he produced 15.4 FPPG (RB12). However, there is one interesting difference emerging this year: an uptick in targets.

Over 15 games in 2020, Jacobs earned 45 targets (No. 24) for a 9.8-percent Target Share (No. 22). To this point in the 2021 season, Jacobs has matched that total (45 targets, No. 12) and his Target Share has jumped to 13-percent (No. 12). While Jacobs is not a model of efficiency, his increasing receiving role is intriguing. A solid RB2, the third-year professional gains three spots and a position high 33.76 Lifetime Value points to rise to RB25.

Diontae Johnson – WR Pittsburgh Steelers

Hard work is paying off for Diontae Johnson. Closing on 1,000 receiving yards for this first time in his NFL career, the Toledo product is enjoying a productive season. In 11 games, Johnson has 76 receptions (No. 8) for 914 Yards (No. 9) and six TDs (No. 12). He averages 10.9 targets per game and enjoys an elite 30.2-percent Target Share (No. 4).

Much was made about Johnson’s 7.6-percent Drop Rate (No. 16) in 2020, but he’s put that narrative to rest this year. He has reduced this rate to 3.3-percent (No. 35) despite a Target Quality Rating of 5.43 (No. 50). Get the ball in the hands of this dynamic talent and good things happen, as evidenced by 384 Yards After the Catch (No. 4). The 25-year-old ascends three spots to join the Top 10 receivers in dynasty (WR10).

Dallas Goedert – TE Philadephia Eagles

In Week 13 versus the NY Jets, Dallas Goedert hauled in all six of his targets for 105 yards and two touchdowns. This career-best performance landed fantasy managers a 28.5 fantasy point (TE2) score. Even with Zach Ertz in the fold for the first six games this season, Goedert posted a TE1 fantasy score in five games played. He is currently the TE10 (10.6 FPPG) in 2021.

Goedert has been a fixture in the Eagles’ offense. He’s played over 95-percent of snaps in three of the last four games with a Target Share of 17-percent (No. 10). Philly’s top tight end has 41 receptions (No. 13) for 596 yards (No. 7) and four touchdowns (No. 10) in 12 games played. He’s churned out an impressive 275 Yards After the Catch (No. 3). Goedert’s dynasty stock trends up as he gains a spot to move up to TE8.

Stock Trending Down

Tyrod Taylor – QB Houston Texans

Since returning from a five games stint on the injured reserve with a hamstring strain, Tyrod Taylor and the Texans offense has struggled. In Week 11, the veteran passed for just 107 yards (4.5 Yards Per Attempt) with two rushing touchdowns. Week 12 was not much better with 158 yards and two passing scores. In Week 13, Taylor posted 45 yards and was injured then benched in the third quarter in favor of rookie Davis Mills – the latter will start for the remainder of the 2021.

After a solid Week 1 debut, Taylor was featured as a market riser moving up to QB32. Fast forward 12 weeks and his dynasty stock continues to trend downward. In six games, he has averaged 14.5 Fantasy Points Per Game (No. 26) which is helped by 25.2 rushing yards per game and three rushing TDs. Now relegated to back-up duties, he loses 11 spots and 6.31 Lifetime Value points (the most of any QB in this update) to fall to QB45 in dynasty.

James Robinson – RB Jacksonville Jaguars

Since returning from a single game absence due to a heel injury in Week 10, it’s been tough sledding for James Robinson. Prior to the Jags’ Week 7 bye, Robinson averaged a Snap Share of 73.9-percent. In the last four games, this is down to 54.5-percent of snaps in part due to being benched twice for fumbling. However, Robinson’s reduction in snaps, carries, routes run and targets is not just recent problem, overall these metrics are down for 2020.

Robinson produced 14.7 Fantasy Points Per Game in 2021 (RB22), a dramatic drop from the 17.9 he’s delivered in 2020. In fairness, he’s faced questionable coaching decisions and his injuries woes have lingered since Week 8. With Trevor Lawrence campaigning for more Robinson deployment, hopefully better days are ahead for the sophomore UDFA. Until then, J-Rob loses seven spots and 29.28 Lifetime Value points to fall to RB33.

Mecole Hardman – WR Kansas City Chiefs

Through Week 13, Mecole Hardman has 43 receptions (No. 39) on 60 targets (No. 60) for 436 yards (No. 52) and a single score. He is generating 7.7 Fantasy Points Per Game (WR68) finishing as a Top 20 fantasy wideout just once (16.6 fantasy points in Week 5, WR19). This is not the breakout season that fantasy gamers had hoped for.

Mecole Hardman Game Log 2021 – Week 1-13

Sounds bad? It actually gets worse. In recent games, Hardman has seen a dramatic drop off in usage. His Snap Share has declined from 66.7-percent in Week 9 to 32.9-percent in Week 10. Since then he has hovered around 18-percent and been out-snapped by both Byron Pringle and Demarcus Robinson for two consecutive weeks. Hardman has seven targets over the past three games catching five passes for receiving totals of 27, 25, and 12 yards. His dynasty stock continues to trend way down losing 14.10 Lifetime Value points and plummets 23 spots to WR85.

Noah Fant – TE Denver Broncos

In 11 games, Denver Broncos tight end Noah Fant has 49 reception (No. 7) on 67 targets (No. 8) for 424 receiving yards (No. 14) and three touchdowns. Despite this, the talented TE has produced a somewhat disappointing 9.9 Fantasy Points Per Game (TE12). This per game average is also inflated by a 24.7 (TE1) score in Week 6.

The Broncos tight end rotation and commitment to the run game has capped Fant’s fantasy ceiling. He’s has produced a TE1 week just four times in 2021 and has finished TE28 or worse four times. Fant has 14 targets in the last two games, but Albert Okwuegbunam has nine. Hampered by his current situation, the talented Fant loses one spot to slip to TE9 in dynasty.

More notable players with stocks trending down this week: Andy Dalton, Saquon Barkley, Matt Brieda, Marquez Callaway, Christian Kirk, Travis Kelce
