Jim Harbaugh Praise for Rookie Tre Harris
1 month ago

Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh had high praise for Chargers rookie wideout Tre Harris after Friday’s minicamp session.

The Chargers took Tre Harris with the 55th overall pick in the second round of April’s draft. Harris (23) played his final two seasons with Ole Miss after transferring from Louisiana Tech. He averaged 57 catches, 1,007 yards, and 7.5 touchdowns during those final two years while catching passes from Jaxson Dart.

“Strength, toughness, route running ability, production, all those things. He does them all at a high level. I think he’s going to be an outstanding pro.”

The Chargers seem like a good fit for Harris, and Harbaugh’s comments further propel his hype train going into 2025. There’s a clear path to targets. The team has a glaring need for an outside threat, with Ladd McConkey playing just under 2/3 of his snaps from the slot and being their only current quality receiver.

At 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds, Harris was dominant on the outside in 2024 for the Rebels and showed excellent skill at the catch point, outworking defenders with his body to bring down tough catches. He’ll face some competition from former first-rounder Quentin Johnston. However, Johnston’s history with drops and inconsistent play allows Harris the chance to prove he belongs in two-receiver sets to start the season. Right now, fantasy managers could make an argument to take Harris as the second receiver off the board in rookie drafts, behind Tet McMillan.

He then transferred to Ole Miss, where he continued to impress, earning First-Team All-SEC recognition in 2024 despite missing several games due to injury. Over his college career, Harris had over 3,500 receiving yards and 29 touchdowns.

For Fantasy Football Tre Harris could sneak into 1st rounds of rookie draft with finding a great landing spot.  He will be linked to a franchise quarterback for years to come.  Also, Ladd McConkey will take some pressure off of Harris.

Commanders Hosted WR Prospect Tre Harris

The Washington Commanders hosted WR Prospect Tre Harris for a Top-30 visit.

After an eventful offseason for the Commanders, adding LT Larmey Tunsil and WR Deebo Samuel via trades, the team continues to do their homework on explosive offensive players like Tre Harris.

The Ole Miss product caught 7 TDs  and accumulated over 1,000 receiving yards in his age 22 season. Harris strung together three straight collegiate seasons of 900 or more receiving yards before declaring for the NFL draft.

After Washington moved on from failed 1st round pick Jahan Dotson, the Commanders’ are in need of a youth infusion at wide receiver as Samuel and Terry McLaurin are at the tail-end of their 2nd contract.  Developing Harris along with sophomore QB Jayden Daniels could be a long-term answer to help Washington maintain competitiveness even with short-term moves this offseason.

Tre Harris Shows Decent Speed, Solid Explosiveness at 2025 NFL Combine
4 months ago

Tre Harris boasted solid size and athleticism at the NFL combine that make him one of the top wide receiver prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Tre Harris was wildly productive in the 8 games he played this season, amassing over 1,000 receiving yards. During combine interviews, Harris shared that he was fully healthy and excited to run his the 40-yard dash, feeling like he had something to prove. While his time of 4o time of 4.54 won’t blow anyone today compared to the other speedsters in this years class, he still earned a 65th percentile speed score with his size coming in at 6’2″, 205 lbs.

In addition to his 40-yard dash time, Harris also participated in the jumping drills and displayed great explosiveness (38.5″ vertical, 10’5″ broad jump.) He chose not to participate in the on-field workout or any other drills.

Overall, Harris remains a top receiver prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft and was even proclaimed by his College QB Jaxson Dart as the best WR in this draft. Look for Harris to go in the top 60 picks of the draft and to see his stock rise accordingly.
