Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers to get MRI to determine if he tore his right ACL.
Giants star wide receiver Malik Nabers is feared to have suffered a season ending injury in the teams’ 21-18 win over the undefeated Los Angeles Chargers. The timing of the injury is even more painful considering how Jaxson Dart was making his rookie debut.
While things were looking up for the team early, Nabers suffered a non-contact injury on a deep ball from Dart. From a personal and team perspective this is a major blow to the Giants as an organization. Fantasy managers are equally sad in their own right as it relates to losing a star player.
Malik Nabers was primed to challenge for the WR1 overall spot in 2025. Just 4 games into the season, the answer to that question will have to arrive at another time. Nabers should be rostered in redraft until final confirmation and in dynasty leagues he will certainly have increased trade liquidity as teams deliberate winning now versus rebuilding of the future. Deals that were once off the table can now be made.

Darius Slayton remains a Giant with 3-year deal worth up to 36 million dollars.
Darius Slayton was drafted by the New York Giants in 2019 in the 5th round. He had pockets of success while establishing himself as a deep threat, averaging 15 yards per catch for his career.
Slayton and the Giants initially agreed on a two-year extension worth 12 million dollars in 2023 and that contract was fulfilled, leaving Slayton free to test the free agent market in 2025. With free agency tampering opening Monday, he and the Giants agreed to a 3-year, 36-million-dollar deal that keeps him with the Giants through the 2027 season.
Slayton has had spike weeks but never been a reliable asset due to his target variance and poor QB play. He is outside of our top 120 wide receivers in dynasty rankings and remains a dart throw for best ball drafts.

Temper expectations for Giants offensive weapons with Drew Lock under center
The Giants season is in disarray as the team is 2-10 and starting Drew Lock for a second straight contest. Lock struggled against a mediocre Cowboys defense, completing just 21 of 32 passes for 178 yards and one interception (0 TDs). First round rookie Malik Nabers continues to be a focal point of the passing offense, if only because there are no other standout performers among the Giants’ pass catchers. Nabers (hip) is questionable for Sunday. If the rookie is declared inactive, Darius Slayton would be the best fill-in, but apart from Nabers, the Giants’ pass catchers are not great options for Week 14 fantasy matchups.
The Saints are a better matchup for running backs, positioning Tyrone Tracy Jr. as a startable RB2. The Saints have allowed the 7th-most rushing yards per game (136) and rushing TDs (15) on the season. The Giants’ offense has been slowed the last two weeks, however, with Tracy only rushing the ball nine times in each contest. With Lock under center, fantasy gamers should expect low volume from the Giants as far as yardage and touchdown production.

Rookies Lead the Way in Fantasy Scoring
The Giants face off against division foe Washington Commanders in Week 9 action. The G-men are struggling to maintain relevance in the NFC East, but have an interesting pair of fantasy relevant offensive weapons, including rookie Alpha WR Malik Nabers and new lead back Tyrone Tracy, Jr.
The only thing that has slowed down Nabers was a Week 4 concussion which sidelined him for two games. When on the field, Nabers is a target dominator (No. 1 36.5-percent Target Share). He will face a Commanders defense that is bottom half against the pass, and on the other side of the ball, a Commanders offense that is top-3 in scoring. That adds up to another high-volume target game for the first round rookie.
Another rookie creating some excitement in the Giants’ offense is fifth round rookie RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. Tracy completed his hostile takeover of the Giants’ backfield in Week 8, when he carried the ball 20 times to Devin Singletary’s two. Tracy rumbled for 145 yards and a TD against the Steelers in Week 8 before sustaining a concussion. Fortunate for fantasy gamers rostering the rookie back, Tracy has cleared concussion protocol ahead of the team’s Week 9 contest against the Jayden Daniels-led Commanders.
Apart from the two exciting rookie playmakers, don’t get excited about starting any other options outside of deep leagues. Wan’Dale Robinson is a decent PPR play and Darius Slayton will have some boom performances, but Nabers and Tracy Jr. will suck up an outsized portion of the volume. Daniel Jones has accounted for just six touchdowns passing on the season and zero rushing. The Giants offense generates just 303.6 (No. 26) yards per game – not an offense to trust in fantasy apart from its flashy new weapons.

The Giants standout WR did not progress through concussion protocol
Giants wideout Malik Nabers has been ruled out for Sunday night’s matchup with the Bengals. Nabers was unable to progress far enough in the league’s concussion protocol to see game action this week. He’ll have another chance in Week 7 to progress through the steps required before the Giants face inter-division rival, the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Nabers news is unfortunate for the Giants since they face a Bengals offense that has been effective scoring in recent weeks. Daniel Jones will look to feed Darius Slayton and Wan’Dale Robinson when he drops back to pass. The veteran Slayton was the lead target for the Giants when Nabers was out in Week 5. Slayton notched a 8-112-1 receiving line. Fantasy gamers will also be looking to replace Nabers’ production, a difficult task as Nabers leads all WRs with 22.9 fantasy points per game when on the field.
