NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports that the Eagles are turning to Joe Milton III as their starting quarterback for Sunday’s Week 9 matchup against the Giants. Milton replaces Tanner McKee less than a month after joining Philadelphia, bringing a rocket arm and intriguing rushing upside.

Milton flashed in his lone appearance as a rookie in 2024, throwing for 241 yards and a touchdown while adding a rushing score against Buffalo’s backups. If neither DeVonta Smith (hamstring) nor Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) can suit up, he’ll be relying heavily on Dallas Goedert, Makai Lemon, and Darius Cooper. Milton’s arm talent and rushing upside make him an intriguing Superflex add, though starting him in Week 9 carries some risk if his supporting cast is depleted.
