Tyquan Thornton left Tuesday’s practice in a medical cart with a hamstring strain, stalling momentum for a wide receiver armed with a 4.28 40-Yard Dash (100th percentile) and a 110.6 Speed Score (93rd percentile). Thornton’s recurring soft-tissue injuries cap his route participation and open additional perimeter reps for Xavier Worthy, and especially fifth-round rookie Cyrus Allen.

Allen boasts a 32.9-percent College Dominator Rating (64th percentile) and has been the league’s most buzzworthy rookie wide receiver this summer. Thornton is droppable in even deep leagues, and Allen continue to march up fantasy football rankings in redraft, best ball, and in particular, dynasty league formats.

This is a tricky one. A history of should injuries heightens the concern, but Xavier Worthy did in fact avoid a significant injury and still remains positioned to bounce back from an injury-riddled campaign that limited him to 7.9 Fantasy Points Per Game (No. 54). Armed with a 99th-percentile 40-yard dash time and an 18.4 Breakout Age (97th percentile), his underlying profile far exceeds his NFL production of 42 catches for 532 receiving yards.

A 12.9 Average Target Distance and 944 Air Yards across 14 games signal strong downfield usage, making him a prime buy-low target at a suppressed draft cost. Worthy will be a volatile weekly play and is the quintessential “better in best ball” player for fantasy football. Meanwhile, fellow field stretcher Tyquan Thornton waits in the wings.

The Athletic’s Jesse Newell followed up this report observing that fifth-round rookie Cyrus Allen has been “the No. 1 story” in training camp for Kansas City. Most importantly, Patrick Mahomes is building rapport with Allen—boasting a 32.9% College Dominator Rating at Cincinnati—who opened Kansas City Chiefs training camp commanding first-team reps alongside Xavier Worthy and Tyquan Thornton.

With fourth-round rookie Jalen Royals struggling with drops, and Andy Reid commending Allen for capitalizing on his immediate opportunity, Allen is the perfect last round pick in fantasy football best ball drafts and an upside play in the fourth round of dynasty league rookie drafts. Stash the 23-year-old wideout now before early camp usage creates late-round FOMO.

Cyrus Allen taking early 7-on-7 reps with Patrick Mahomes and earning hands-on instruction from Andy Reid is a positive step for his development. Despite entering the league with a modest 20.1-percent College Target Share (53rd percentile) and a 20.8 Breakout Age (53rd percentile), the fifth-round rookie is putting his raw tools on display early in camp.

Allen is the right receiver on the right team. Kansas City is missing a bulletproof alpha WR, and the WR3 role is wide open. While a highlighted end-zone connection in July does not guarantee regular-season volume, he remains an intriguing late-round stash in fantasy football dynasty drafts.

Xavier Worthy is capturing camp headlines, but he has been running routes in a no-contact jersey as he winds down his shoulder rehabilitation. Worthy’s 2025 season was ruined by that serious Week 1 should tear, which suppressed his weekly route participation and stalled out his production at 7.9 Fantasy Points Per Game, ranking No. 54 at the position.

With Andy Reid deploying him as a first-read passing game option and Rashee Rice facing a potential suspension, Worthy possesses a clear path to outperform his ninth-round ADP by elevating both this Target Share and Air Yards Share. Worthy is an excellent buy low in fantasy football both best ball and dynasty league formats.

You never go full Josh Gordon. According to court documents released on Tuesday, May 19, Rashee Rice was placed in custody to serve a 30-day jail sentence ending June 16 after testing positive for marijuana. This positive test violates his probation from previous felony highway racing charges, forcing him to miss upcoming organized team activities and mandatory mini-camp.

The NFL may reconsider its decision not to pursue further discipline. Rice’s latest intersection with law enforcement puts his 2026 season in jeopardy and will elevate teammate Xavier Worthy‘s fantasy value. Jalen Royals and Tyquan Thornton will also see a boost due to the Law of the Conservation of Targets.
