Tre Tucker in Position to be Raiders' WR3
1 month ago

Las Vegas Raiders 2nd year WR Tre Tucker seems to be “taking the next step” as a receiving weapon.

Las Vegas Raiders WR Tre Tucker availed himself well as a speedy target as a rookie. Reports emerging from the Raiders’ OTAs and mandatory minicamp seem to indicate that Tucker will firmly be the WR3 in OC Luke Getsy’s offense. At 5’9″, Tucker is on the smaller side, but his 4.4 second speed and ability to cut on out routes and comeback routes have head coach Antonio Pierce impressed, “(Tucker is) a different dude…Don’t look at his size…he’s the biggest dude out there.”

The Raiders receiving corps is a full one with many mouths to feed. WRs Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers are well established targets, and TEs Michael Mayer and Brock Bowers were two of the best pass catchers at the position of the last 5 years, so Tucker may not have the volume to be a major fantasy asset, but were something to happen to those ahead of him on the depth chart, Tucker might be a nice late-round stash.

Las Vegas Raiders Retain Antonio Pierce

The Las Vegas Raiders have announced that Antonio Pierce has been retained as the team’s Head Coach.

The Las Vegas Raiders have stayed in-house for their Head Coach hire, giving Antonio Pierce an upgrade after the former defensive standout and Super Bowl Champion served at the position in the 2023 interim that followed the firing of Josh McDaniels. Pierce’s Raiders finished with a 5-4 record, giving notice to their AFC West rivals that they were to be reckoned with. Pierce led a late-season revamp which saw the team score 63 points against the Chargers, beat the Chiefs in Kansas City for Christmas, and embarrass the Broncos in Week 18.

Despite speculation and media hype that previously surrounded Raiders coaching hires and the big names that are available for hire, Mark Davis had eyes for only one man. Most notably, “big fish” candidates Jim Harbaugh, Bill Belichck, and Mike Vrabel were never interviewed.

Questions still remain at Offensive Coordinator and whether or not QB Aidan O’Connell will be the starter post-draft, so the fantasy implications are to-be-determined. Zamir White, Tre Tucker, and Michael Mayer did show promise for the future, each having mini-breakouts after the change at head coach.
