In 2022, Mayer played in 12 games, caught 67 passes for 809 yards, averaged 12.1 yards per catch, and scored nine touchdowns. In 2021, Mayer started 12 games, caught 71 passes for 840 yards and hauled in seven touchdowns while averaging 11.8 yards per catch. In 2020 Mayer recorded over 400 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Needless to say, Mayer proved to be one of the most productive tight ends in college football during his time at Notre Dame. He never played a season where he put up less than 400 receiving yards, and he put up back to back 800 yard receiving seasons. Needless to say, many will argue that Michael Mayer is the best tight end in the 2023 NFL Draft class.
