DFS Best Plays | Week 8 (2026)

by Wyatt Bertolone · Fantasy Football

Welcome to this new DFS Best Plays series, where I’ll be detailing my favorite plays on DraftKings each week. DFS is a nuanced game requiring strong player takes, matchup knowledge, and game theory. This won’t just be the highest-projected player from each position. This will be the best cost-adjusted plays across the Sunday main slate.

Let’s get to it.

DFS Best Plays | Week 8

Dak Prescott | QB, Dallas Cowboys

The Numbers:

  • Salary – $6,300
  • Game Total – 54.5
  • Cowboys Implied Total – 30.75
  • DraftKings PPG – 19.9
  • Defensive Rank vs Position – 31st

The Why:

For a few years now, the Cowboys have been a fantasy gold mine because they have a top offense with a dreadful defense. 2026 is no different. This causes them to continue to try to put up points even when the game is under control, so it’s hard for Dak Prescott to be a bust in any given week. Against the Cardinals, they may have to do it again. Arizona has the capability on offense to claw back into games during garbage time. Javonte Williams could steal his thunder with a multi-touchdown game, but it’s more likely Prescott puts up a 300-yard and three-TD game. A great quarterback against a bad defense with a high over/under — what’s not to like?

Chase Brown | RB, Cincinnati Bengals

The Numbers:

  • Salary – $6,300
  • Game Total – 46.5
  • Bengals Implied Total – 28.25
  • DraftKings PPG – 12.6
  • Defensive Rank vs Position – 17th

The Why:

As I discussed earlier this week, Chase Brown still has a great role, and I’m betting that variance swings back in his favor here. This week, he gets to face a Titans defense that can be beaten on the ground, and their middle-of-the-road ranking against running backs is misleading. Just last week, Quinshon Judkins put up 23.4 DraftKings points against them while Dylan Sampson added 10.7 of his own. Before that, Breece Hall had 22.8. Derrick Henry went for 15.9. Jonathan Taylor had 23.1. Additionally, the Bengals should be able to win this game handily, leading to more potential carries for Brown.

Zay Flowers | WR, Baltimore Ravens

The Numbers:

  • Salary – $7,200
  • Game Total – 54.5
  • Ravens Implied Total – 25.75
  • DraftKings PPG – 21.9
  • Defensive Rank vs Position – 32nd

The Why:

Zay Flowers has been one of the best, if not the best, cost-adjusted assets in fantasy football this year. This season, without playing a full complement of snaps due to his Week 1 injury, he’s averaging a fantastic 3.8 yards per route run. It’s even better when you isolate only targets from Lamar Jackson, who’s expected back this week. He’s third among wide receivers in target share with 30.9%. Flowers is in the middle of a career-best season, and he can still reach another level. This is a blow-up spot for Flowers against the Bills.

KC Concepcion | WR, Cleveland Browns

The Numbers:

  • Salary – $4,700
  • Game Total – 39.5
  • Browns Implied Total – 18
  • DraftKings PPG – 9.6
  • Defensive Rank vs Position – 11th

The Why:

The KC Concepcion breakout was bound to happen due to his usage at the start of the season, and it finally happened in Week 7. It may seem like we’re chasing points by playing him right after his big game, but he has a good chance to do it again in Week 8. The Steelers may be the 11th-toughest matchup for wide receivers by raw fantasy points allowed thus far, but that’s more due to who they’ve faced. By schedule-adjusted fantasy points per game allowed, the Steelers are the third-best matchup for wide receivers. The Browns are small underdogs this week as well, increasing the chances they’re forced to pass more than they normally would.

Hunter Henry | TE, New England Patriots

The Numbers:

  • Salary – $4,300
  • Game Total – 43.5
  • Patriots Implied Total – 25.25
  • DraftKings PPG – 9.7
  • Defensive Rank vs Position – 31st

The Why:

Throughout all the turnover at wide receiver around Drake Maye over the last season and a half, Hunter Henry has remained old reliable. He’s a serious threat in the red zone and a safety blanket for Maye. In Week 8, Henry faces a Dolphins defense that’s been unable to stop opposing tight ends. On a slate without too many good pay-down options at running back and wide receiver, you may have to save money at tight end. Henry is a great option for that, especially since we don’t have a viable option even further down in salary.
