After beginning his career at Western Michigan in 2018, Brown moved up in competition to the Big 10 where his brother Sydney started his career. Chase rushed for 352 yards on 71 carries at Western Michigan. At Illinois, Brown progressed in at a linear pace starting at 18 yards as a sophomore, geting better each season with 540, 1,005 and 1,643 rushing yards year after year throughout. Brown was the first Doak Walker Award finalis in Illinois history, he was named to multiple All-American second teams, and was invited to the Senior Bowl in 2023 after rushing for 100+ yards in 10 of 12 games.
