Jauan Jennings signed an $8 million base contract with incentives to join a new receiving corps featuring stars Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. Though projected as the WR3, Jennings’ physical frame and run-blocking ability allows him to challenge Addison for snaps in two-receiver sets and absolutely buries Tai Felton on the depth chart.
To be clear, the Minnesota landing spot dampens Jennings’ best ball and dynasty stock. Currently valued as a WR4/FLEX in all formats, the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports that Jordan Addison remains the Vikings’ No. 2 wide receiver. While Jennings trails Jefferson and Addison in most fantasy rankings, he offers contingent upside if he can earn an expanded role.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison posted ...
Cohen reports that the Vikings are not expected to pick up Jordan Addison’s fifth-year option and is likely traded this offseason. The 49ers are mentioned as an aggressive pursuer of Addison as they look to bolster their wide receiver room. The 49ers’ interest in Addison makes sense with Brandon Aiyuk no longer in the fold, Jauan Jennings a free agent, and Ricky Pearsall playing only 20 regular season games through his first two seasons. Cohen also mentions the Buffalo Bills as a potential trade suitor, with the Bills history of previously trading for Vikings receiver Stefon Diggs.
There is a risk in acquiring Addison, with the Vikings receiver entering his fourth year in the league and having three interactions with law enforcement. The most recent was a dismissal of a misdemeanor trespassing charge. Addison also served a three-game suspension last season as a result of a DUI related offense. However, the 49ers and Bills make logical trade candidates. A trade from Minnesota would do wonders for Addison’s fantasy production. No longer would the receiver be in the shadows of Justin Jefferson. He would instantly profile as either of these teams primary wide receiver. He would easily top his season high in targets of 108, which he amassed in his rookie season.

Addison was alleged to have trespassed during a January 12th visit to a Noodle Bar at a Hard Rock Hotel & Casino near Tampa Florida. According to reports from Kevin Seifert at ESPN, Addison was alleged to have not complied with requests from casino security to leave and was arrested shortly after police were dispatched at 3:42 a.m. Assistant State Attorney Antonio Rodriquez, after reviewing a criminal report affidavit, filed a notice of termination of prosecution with the Hillsborough County Court. The prosecutor cited no reason for terminating the prosecution to the court. According to Mike Garafolo, Addison plans on filing a civil action for unlawful arrest.
Addison will likely avoid any NFL discipline related to this incident. However, Addison’s continue brush ups with law enforcement are a foreboding trend. This is now Addison’s third incident since joining the league of alleged criminal activity. Addison previously pleaded guilty to reckless driving with the involvement of alcohol occurring in California in 2024, which resulted in a three-game suspension. In 2023, Addison pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor speed offense occurring in Minnesota, which resulted in no league discipline. Addison can hopefully steer clear from trouble this off-season with the hopes getting his first 1,000 yard receiving season in 2026.

Another off-season, another arrest for Jordan Addison. The third-year wide receiver pleaded guilty to a speeding charge in 2023 and was arrested in 2024 for a DUI.
The Vikings are aware of the situation and aren’t willing to speculate until they receive more facts about exactly what happened. Addison is eligible to have his fifth-year option exercised, and while he’s produced on the field, the off-the-field run-ins with the law will certainly impact his future. Does he provide enough production to allow this cycle to continue? The news now affects whether the Vikings re-sign Jalen Nailor or let him test free agency

The Packers destroyed the Vikings on Sunday at Lambeau Field to the tune of 23-6. J.J. McCarthy was 12/19 with 87 passing yards and 2 interceptions with a 17.9 QBR.
McCarthy reported concussion symptoms to the team and will be at risk of missing a Week 13 matchup with the Sam Darnold led Seahawks. Ironically, the matchup would pit the Vikings against Darnold, who they opted to not re-sign in favor of moving forward with the unproven J.J. McCarthy. Rumors of a soft benching abound and the allegations are getting tougher to beat by the minute. In the meantime, Max Brosmer will aim to make Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison viable again for fantasy football should McCarthy miss.

Jordan Addison will look to build on his sophomore NFL season, in which he caught 63 receptions for 875 yards and 9 touchdowns. Addison has been fairly boom or bust in his first two years, though his 14.1 fantasy points-per-game in 2024 were good for 25th among wide receivers.
The problem I see with Addison’s projection for the rest of 2025 is the Vikings quarterback situation. With J.J. McCarthy getting injured after playing poorly apart from the second half against the Bears, even Justin Jefferson has put up pedestrian numbers. The consensus best receiver in the game currently sits outside the top 24 in this offense.
I’m not sure Minnesota will be able to support multiple fantasy WRs consistently. Those of us who drafted Addison, hoping to get a solid WR2 with upside at a discount, should be tempering our expectations in the current moment. Consider him a flex play in week 4 against a Steelers defense that has shown its fair share of holes so far this season.
