Jordan Addison
Jordan Addison Trade Candidate

Grant Cohen of Sports Illustrated reports that the San Francisco  49ers are targeting Jordan Addison as a trade acquisition.

Cohen reports that the Vikings are not expected to pick up Jordan Addison’s fifth-year option and is likely traded this offseason. The 49ers are mentioned as an aggressive pursuer of Addison as they look to bolster their wide receiver room. The 49ers’ interest in Addison makes sense with Brandon Aiyuk no longer in the fold, Jauan Jennings a free agent, and Ricky Pearsall playing only 20 regular season games through his first two seasons. Cohen also mentions the Buffalo Bills as a potential trade suitor, with the Bills history of previously trading for Vikings receiver Stefon Diggs.

There is a risk in acquiring Addison, with the Vikings receiver entering his fourth year in the league and having three interactions with law enforcement. The most recent was a dismissal of a misdemeanor trespassing charge. Addison also served a three-game suspension last season as a result of a DUI related offense. However, the 49ers and Bills make logical trade candidates. A trade from Minnesota would do wonders for Addison’s fantasy production. No longer would the receiver be in the shadows of Justin Jefferson. He would instantly profile as either of these teams primary wide receiver. He would easily top his season high in targets of 108, which he amassed in his rookie season.
