The reigning MVP battled through the playoffs with a broken foot.
Josh Allen played through a broken foot during the playoffs, an injury he disclosed Tuesday at new HC Joe Brady’s introductory press conference. Allen arrived on crutches and wore a walking boot on his right foot. He told reporters he suffered a fracture to his fifth metatarsal, which required surgery Monday morning in Birmingham, Alabama. The reigning MVP said it was an older injury that he believes was aggravated in Week 16 against the Browns. “I had a little broken bone in there, so they went in and took it out and cleaned it up,” Allen said.
For Allen, the injury caps off another frustrating season in which Buffalo failed to meet expectations once again. With no Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, or Joe Burrow in the playoffs, many thought this was the year that Allen would lead the Bills to a Super Bowl. Instead, the Bills came up short, losing in the Divisional Round to Denver despite Allen gutting it out through the injury.
Allen finished the 2025 regular season with 3,668 passing yards, 579 rushing yards, 39 total touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. Looking ahead, there are no long-term concerns for 2026, as he will have ample time to heal and rehab. In personal news, Allen expressed excitement about becoming a father, with he and his wife, Hailee Steinfeld, expecting their first child.

Former quarterback Philip Rivers is interviewing for the Buffalo Bills head coach position after the surprise firing of Sean McDermott.
After the surprising firing of head coach Sean McDermott, the Buffalo Bills are interviewing former quarterback Philip Rivers. Rivers recently unretired to play for the Indianapolis Colts to help push for a playoff bid. After the Colts were eliminated from playoff contention, Rivers went back to being retired. The choice to interview Rivers is surprising as he only has high school coaching experience. One can argue that Rivers intimate knowledge of football is his strongest suit.
This development could be huge for Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Allen and Rivers share the same agent and Allen worked out with Rivers during the pre-draft process. Being on the same page with a knowledgeable coach can be very beneficial for Allen. Allen has been a top three quarterback in fantasy for the last six years, including QB1 in four of the six. Rivers could help Allen become even better.

Buffalo Bills general manager, Brandon Beane, mentioned that quarterback Josh Allen could need a procedure on his injured foot.
Josh Allen was battling through multiple injuries in the Buffalo Bills loss to the Denver Broncos and now might need a procedure to take care of one of them. Allen suffered a foot injury late in the regular season and the Bills limited his practice reps because of it.
Brandon Beane said that he expects Allen to be ready for the team’s OTAs regardless of if he as the procedure or not. The Bills face another long offseason after coming up short again in the playoffs. Allen remains an elite quarterback option for fantasy managers and it doesn’t appear that he’s in any danger of missing significant time.

The Buffalo Bills have fired head coach Sean McDermott after nine seasons.
The Buffalo Bills have fired head coach Sean McDermott, ending his nine-year tenure in Buffalo. The decision comes just two days after a 33-30 overtime loss to the Denver Broncos in the AFC divisional round of the playoffs, another postseason disappointment for McDermott and the Bills.
McDermott finishes his Bills career with 98-50 regular season record and a playoff record of 8-8. The Bills became the first NFL team to win a playoff game seven straight years without a Super Bowl appearance. With the Bills never getting over the hump to make to Super Bowl, general manager Brandon Beane made the choice of needing a change. The Bills are set to open a new stadium next season and will have to do so with a new head coach.
Sean McDermott moves to the top of several head coaching vacancies and should have no problem finding a new home.

The Buffalo Bills win in Foxborough to end the Patriots’ 10-game win streak and keep divisional hopes alive.
Josh Allen and the Bills showed the Patriots what they’re capable of, scoring 28 points in the second half to rally for the 35-31 victory and give them hope in the AFC East title race. Buffalo has now reached 10 wins for the seventh consecutive season. The season series is split one win apiece.
Allen finished 19 of 28 for 193 yards and three touchdowns, connecting with veteran tight end Dawson Knox on two of the throws and James Cook, the other. “No matter what the score is, if it’s in the third quarter, in the fourth quarter, whatever it is, if we’ve got a chance and we’ve got the ball, we feel like we like our chances,” Allen said.
