Sure. As a competitive human, Alvin Kamara is about as enthusiastic about the Saints signing Etienne as Kyle Shanahan was about John Lynch’s crazy De’Zhaun Stribling pick. With one foot in retirement and one in the NFL, Kamara has no choice but to express optimism about a potential backfield partnership.
Kamara’s most efficient seasons were achieved next to Mark Ingram, and he is putting his best foot forward. Kamara’s genuine commitment to the team is evident through his proactive training and film study of rookie Jordyn Tyson, signaling a strong desire to remain in New Orleans. Despite a high 2026 cap hit that may necessitate contract restructuring, all signs indicate that Kamara will be on the field for the Saints this season and is currently a value in all fantasy formats.

Veteran New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (knee) ...
The New Orleans Saints still want to address running back ...
Coach Moore is out here playing mind games, refusing to give us a straight answer while pretending a 30-year-old Alvin Kamara and Travis Etienne Jr. is some kind of “great situation” for everyone and no one. Bottom line: Kamara is a proven producer, who might be running on fumes, but if he doesn’t retire, he’s going to be a massive thorn in the side of every Etienne dynasty manager by potentially vacuuming up high-value targets.
Fantasy gamers are drafting Etienne at a premium price expecting a 300-touch bellcow role, but Moore’s evasive rhetoric is a neon sign warning that the full-scale workhorse takeover hasn’t actually been ratified yet. As long as Kamara is in the building, Etienne is a high-priced bet on a bad team’s backfield that could devolve into a specialist committee.
Fantasy managers caught a tough break on Sunday when Devin Neal left the Week 15 matchup with the Panthers with a hamstring injury. Adding insult to injury was the fact that Neal got hurt while scoring a touchdown.
With fantasy football being a cruel game, the next man up mentality endures. With Alvin Kamara dealing with injuries of his own it is looking like the Saints will be a split backfield of both Audric Estime and Evan Hull. The matchup with the Jets is juicy. While the split backfield isn’t fun, Estime is an appealing upside play amongst the 2 backs. Given that this is not ideal, fantasy gamers should exhaust other options if they can.

The New Orleans Saints are 1-6 in last place of the NFC South. With their season slipping away, they have now lost upstart running back Kendre Miller to a torn ACL.
Miller’s injury is a cruel twist of fate as he had struggled his first 2 seasons with injury. Miller was gaining snap share in the Saints backfield with Alvin Kamara. Miller had 3 games of 31% or more snap share and even had a 12.5 fantasy point outing in week 4 as a high end RB3.
While Miller wasn’t on the trajectory to being a star in the league, he’ll be added to the long list of players who can’t quite catch breaks be it via health or opportunity at the next level. For those who have Miller in dynasty, his trade value plummets to zero and he’ll be living on IR spots for the foreseeable future into 2026.

Spencer Rattler has looked like the best quarterback at New Orleans Saints training camp so far, outplaying 2025 40th overall pick Tyler Shough. Rattler has said he feels like the best quarterback on the field.
Chris Olave, Alvin Kamara and Rashid Shaheed will likely be dealing with quarterback turmoil throughout the season. The Saints are likely to start multiple quarterbacks this season and it looks like Rattler currently has the edge to begin the season atop the depth chart.
New Orleans will want to get a look at Shough at some point this season, he’s been a late round selection in fantasy drafts and this report won’t help his stock. Olave, Kamara and Shaheed have all been selections inside the top 110 of fantasy drafts even with the quarterback uncertainty accounted for.

With the 2025 NFL Draft less than a week away, in-demand running back Cam Skattebo squeezed two more visits under the gun. The gritty runner—one of the draft’s top prospects—visited the Detroit Lions and Tennessee Titans this week. This comes after official visits with the Cardinals, Browns, and Giants, and more presumed interest across the league.
It’s hard to imagine Skattebo ending up in Detroit, stuck behind David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs. Tennessee also already has two backs with comparative styles. The first-team All-American is known for his smooth transitions from hard-nosed runner to receiving option out of the backfield. Those comparisons have drawn speculation that he’s also catching the eye of Sean Payton in Denver, who is likely seeking an Alvin Kamara prototype.
The most intriguing fits for his visits appear to be the Browns and Giants. Jerome Ford and Tyrone Tracy (respectively) have each been discussed as players whose roles are in jeopardy.
