While these sources never deliver negative news, the glowing report is encouraging. Following November back surgery that limited him to eight games in 2025, Sam LaPorta has re-established his rapport with Jared Goff as a focal point in camp. Despite playing through injury, LaPorta converted 40 receptions while establishing career marks with 12.2 Yards Per Catch and a 69-percent Receiving Success Rate.
Commanding a target on 21-percent of his routes, his interior involvement remains essential to Detroit’s offensive efficiency. Laporta is a value pick in Round 8-9 of redraft formats and a strong target in Round 7 of tight end premium formats.
Jared Goff has a new superflex handcuff. Joshua Dobbs’ deal includes $475,000 in guarantees. The Lions needed a reliable backup quarterback after QB Teddy Bridgewater told the team earlier today that he plans to step away from football. Dobbs fills that void. Fantasy managers will remember Dobbs’ surprisingly positive play with the Vikings in 2023.
Whether he could return to that form, if need be, in his age-31 season is unknown, but for now his signing addresses a team need. Dobbs is rosterable in very deep superflex leagues, particular for manager who already have Goff on the roster.
The worst kept WR3 secret in all of fantasy football has been further exposed by Coach Campbell. Isaac TeSlaa is projected to slot into the Detroit Lions’ three-wide sets alongside Jameson Williams and Amon-Ra St. Brown. While commanding targets will be a challenge after earning a 4.9-percent Target Share last year, his efficiency metrics offer room for optimism.
In this high-powered offense, TeSlaa is firmly on the WR4 radar after converting 27 targets into 6 touchdowns, registering a 2.81 Fantasy Points Per Target mark that demands attention in seasonal, best ball and dynasty league formats.

Jared Goff was 23/40 for 313 passing yards. That is good to see in the stat sheet except for the fact that Goff had a 1:3 touchdown to interception ratio as well as losing a fumble. With 4 turnovers and the Commanders converting 4th downs and turning field goal drives into touchdowns, it became difficult for the Lions to keep up.

The Detroit Lions have been handing out a lot of money this offseason. The Lions have made Penei Sewell the highest paid offensive lineman, Amon-Ra St. Brown the highest paid wide receiver at the time of the signing (AJ Brown signed a couple days after), and now they have the second highest paid quarterback annually in Jared Goff.
Goff was once deemed to be a mediocre quarterback when drafted number 1 overall by the Rams. When traded to the Lions he had a resurgence, helping improve the Lions offense with his quarterback play. Goff led the Lions to their first NFC North title since 1993 and their first NFC Championship Game appearance since 1991. The Lions have rewarded Goff with a bag full of money making him the second highest paid quarterback annually with a contract extension of 4-years worth up to $212 million, and $170 million guaranteed.
Goff emerges with an extension while a group of other quarterbacks still awaiting a new deal include division rival Jordan Love, Dak Prescott, Tua Tagovailoa, and Trevor Lawrence. It is yet to be seen which one of these quarterbacks will come out with the largest bag but for now Goff can sit back and enjoy his well-deserved extension.
As for fantasy, Goff has finished top 10 in each of the last two seasons. There has not been much turnover in the offense as they have the same offensive coordinator, running back group, and very little changed with their receiving core. Hendon Hooker is still a stash barring injury to Goff. Jared Goff is the perfect second quarterback to have in your SuperFlex dynasty leagues.
