Odell Beckham Jr. Signs a One-Year Deal With the Dolphins
1 week ago

The Miami Dolphins have signed wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to a one-year deal worth up to $8.25 million.

Now that the dust has settled after the NFL Draft,  Odell Beckham Jr. finds a new home in Miami. Rumors started circulating prior to the draft that Beckham Jr. was in talks with Dolphins on a possible agreement, but now it has become a done deal. It appears that Beckham could not find any other takers so he’s heading to the 305 this Fall.

Last season with Baltimore, Beckham Jr. was targeted 64 times. The veteran receiver was able to bring in 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns. He was able to play 14 games last year, which is the most games he’s played since 2019.

Beckham will join forces with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, and try to become the WR3 in this potent Miami offense. He’ll have to hold off returning Wide receivers Braxton Berrios, Eric Ezukanma, River Cracraft, and incoming rookies Malik Washington and Tahj Washington for that that spot. For now you can hold Beckham in your dynasty leagues to see how his involvement in the offense progresses, or you can look to trade him to an eager leagumate. Otherwise, you should only consider drafting him in later rounds of deeper leagues.

Bateman and OBJ ruled OUT week 4

Baltimore Ravens will be without Rashod Bateman and Odell Beckham Jr week 4 @Cleveland.

More bad news for Baltimore, but what else is new. The Ravens have been on one of the worst injury runs in recent NFL history, and it’s only getting worse. Baltimore will officially be without two of their top wide receivers in Rashod Bateman (hamstring) and Odell Beckham Jr (ankle) this week as they travel to face the top defense in the NFL in a divisional game Sunday afternoon.

OBJ will now be missing his 2nd straight game for Baltimore with an ankle injury.  The 30 year old WR just can’t seem to stay healthy unfortunately. Odell hasn’t played a full season since 2019 and this year is shaping up to be no different. Meanwhile the former 1st round pick Rashod Bateman has also struggled to stay healthy in his young playing career, and he is now being ruled out with a hamstring injury.

The Ravens missing both Bateman and OBJ opens up opportunities for all other pass catchers on Baltimore. Zay Flowers and Mark Andrews are the prime beneficiaries here as the target competition thins out. Both players have had impressive target shares of 29.8% for Flowers and 20.6% for Andrews through 3 weeks and they are must starts even against a vaunted Cleveland defense. Bateman and OBJ injury histories do not paint a pretty picture for the future. It is time to move on from both players in fantasy, as they are both 3rd options at best on this team when they return from their injuries.

OBJ OUT week 3 Vs Indy

Odell Beckham Jr has been ruled OUT with an ankle injury for week 3 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Ravens big free agent acquisitions at the WR position Odell Beckham Jr has been declared OUT for week 3 Vs the Indianapolis Colts. Beckham hurt his ankle in week 2 Vs the Bengals and was unable to return to the game. It’s another tough break for the soon to be 31 year old WR who has struggled to stay healthy his whole career.

Odell’s injury leaves a lot of snaps vacant for the Ravens WR core as he led the WRs in snaps in week 1 and was 3rd in snaps and targets in week 2 despite leaving the game early. In Odell’s absence, the Ravens boosted Rashod Bateman’s snaps significantly as he went from 25 snaps week 1 to 44 snaps week 2. Other Ravens WRs Nelson Agholor and Devin Duvernay seemed to get more involved after the injury to OBJ as well. Agholor in particular had a good showing finishing with a 5-63-1 line playing mostly in the slot.

The Ravens passing attack without OBJ should be more condensed. Higher target shares for standout rookie WR Zay Flowers and Lamar Jacksons favorite target star TE Mark Andrews should be in play. There is possible inclement weather on the horizon in Baltimore for Sunday so monitor the rain and wind there but if the weather is decent expect big days from Andrews, Flowers, and sleeper pick to score a long TD Rashod Bateman.
