Malik Nabers is “murky at best” to play Week 1 vs. the Cowboys on SNF, Adam Schefter reported on ESPN Sunday Countdown. Nabers hasn’t told the Giants yet if he will play, while the Giants activated WR Braxton Berrios from the practice squad and signed WR Dalen Cambre to the 53-man roster.
With the Giants playing on Sunday Night Football, it creates a challenge for how fantasy football managers can adjust. Unless you have a viable pivot in the Cowboys-Giants SNF or Broncos-Chiefs MNF game, you may need to check the waiver wire ahead of the 4:00 PM EST games and play it safe. Malachi Fields and even Odell Beckham Jr. could be options if you are in a pinch.

Malik Nabers practiced in full Wednesday as the Giants prepare for Sunday night’s season opener against the Dallas Cowboys. Head coach John Harbaugh said Nabers is trending towards being ready to play but stopped short of officially confirming his status for Sunday. Nabers is returning from the torn ACL and meniscus injury that ended his 2025 season.
If cleared, Nabers should immediately step back into his role as the Giants’ No. 1 receiving option and carries significant fantasy upside in his return. He will join Darnell Mooney, Malachi Fields, and Odell Beckham Jr. to handle the receiving workload along with offseason signing Isaiah Likely.
The New York Giants have officially reunited with 33-year-old wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on a one-year contract after the veteran sat out the entire 2025 season. Beckham profiles as a depth piece rather than a fantasy savior, considering his last 1,000-yard campaign occurred in 2019 and his last active season in 2024 yielded a geriatric 14.1% Target Share with just 9 receptions for 55 yards in Miami.
Beckham fortunately joins a depleted WR room in New York and will immediate compete for targets with Darnell Mooney and Calvin Austin. Once Malik Nabers returns, Beckham will be relegated to a nostalgia piece.
This past Friday, the Miami Dolphins released wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. after the former All-Pro appeared in nine of the team’s 13 games in 2024. In May, Beckham signed a one-year, $3 million deal with Miami worth up to $8.25 million with incentives but largely underwhelmed. On the season, the former LSU standout registered nine catches for 55 yards as the presumed third option behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, although he never really established himself as that guy. As a result, tight end Jonnu Smith has become one of Tua Tagovailoa’s favorite targets upon his return from injury.
In terms of fantasy impact, it is unlikely that Beckham’s departure will drastically alter the outlook of Miami’s top weapons. Since he had such little production in Miami, the trio of Hill, Waddle, and Smith should maintain their status as Tua’s top targets going forward. Perhaps Malik Washington — a rookie wideout who has seen an elevated role over the last few weeks — figures to benefit most from Odell’s departure.
Odell is dealing with “minor things” and this supposedly part of a plan to ease him back into Football. Beckham Jr. joined the Dolphins on a 1-year deal in a loaded receiver room with Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill. Unfortunately Beckham Jr. has dealt with a plethora of injuries during his career including 2 ACL tears that make him a high risk to miss time. The Dolphins also added rookie Malik Washington in the draft, who was extremely productive at Virginia and figures to compete for WR3 duties with Odell.
Fantasy Managers should exercise caution investing capital into Odell, as it’s sounding like more of the same regarding injuries to start 2024. Malik Washington remains an interesting name to monitor, as Head Coach Mike McDaniel was “bugging” Miami’s GM to draft him.
Now that the dust has settled after the NFL Draft, Odell Beckham Jr. finds a new home in Miami. Rumors started circulating prior to the draft that Beckham Jr. was in talks with Dolphins on a possible agreement, but now it has become a done deal. It appears that Beckham could not find any other takers so he’s heading to the 305 this Fall.
Last season with Baltimore, Beckham Jr. was targeted 64 times. The veteran receiver was able to bring in 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns. He was able to play 14 games last year, which is the most games he’s played since 2019.
Beckham will join forces with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, and try to become the WR3 in this potent Miami offense. He’ll have to hold off returning Wide receivers Braxton Berrios, Eric Ezukanma, River Cracraft, and incoming rookies Malik Washington and Tahj Washington for that that spot. For now you can hold Beckham in your dynasty leagues to see how his involvement in the offense progresses, or you can look to trade him to an eager leagumate. Otherwise, you should only consider drafting him in later rounds of deeper leagues.
