Despite a career-low 3,587 passing yards last year, the veteran quarterback still managed 21.2 Fantasy Points Per Game (No. 2) before his season was cut short.
While this is good news on the surface, Charles Goldman is reporting that Mahomes admitted to running too much last year and plans to only scramble “if all else fails” in 2026. Mahomes’ ADP will rise across all formats from redraft to dynasty to best ball, but heavily reduced rushing production would place him more in the Stafford/Goff archetype this season.

After tearing his ACL on December 14, 2025, Patrick Mahomes is beating the standard recovery timeline for his reconstructed knee, but expect Kansas City to exert caution by capping his reps in early training camp sessions. The high-efficiency signal-caller wrapped up last season averaging 21.2 Fantasy Points Per Game (No. 2) before his Week 15 ACL tear cut the campaign short.
If cleared for 11-on-11 drills in July, Mahomes is on a straight line to a Week 1 return. His current depressed ADP an absolute gift if his 85.6-percent Protection Rate (No. 13) holds up. Draft Mahomes with confidence in best ball, dynasty, and seasonal league formats.
Patrick Mahomes was spotted going through non-contact, opening OTA drills in a massive, robocop-style leg brace, and he told Chiefs media that he is working toward being cleared for full participation by time training camp. While Mahomes “races against the clock” for his age-31 season, the cold reality is that he’s recovering from catastrophic knee ligament tears that capped his 2025 campaign at a career-low 3,587 passing yards and a modest 22 passing touchdowns.
Bottom line: It is safe to expect that Mahomes will be back early in the season as he is already trending toward avoiding the PUP list, which is great news for Mahomes fantasy managers. If Mahomes isn’t cleared to suit up for the Week 1 opener, Andy Reid will gladly hand the keys to Justin Fields, a hyper-athletic Konami-code backup who offers fantasy upside.
Tight end Travis Kelce has made little more than a peep with regard to his weighing of a possible retirement. He’s been candid about the possibility, and last left the media without comment after the final game of the 2025 season on whether he would accept a team-friendly deal to ‘give it another go.’
Kelce is locked in near the top of every statistical category in the history of the position, even crossing significant benchmarks last year in receptions (1,004) and yards (13,002). Both of those rank third all-time. The only other milestone he could cross in another season would be to pass Jimmy Graham for fourth in touchdowns. He trails Graham by 12 and Rob Gronkowski by 15.
“There is communication,” coach Reid said of talks with Kelce. “That’s the main thing. I’ve said this before: As long as there’s communication, I’m good. That means people want to move forward. I think that’s where Travis is.” Reid was decidedly upbeat when discussing the Ohio native. Kelce also made several appearances in the days leading up to this year’s Super Bowl LX, and a number of sources within the organization say they expect that he’ll return.
Presumably, two big factors are being taken into account. Eric Bieniemy has been brought back on board to re-assume the offensive coordinator position. He and Kelce have a significant bond. Additionally, Kelce’s best friend, quarterback Patrick Mahomes, is rehabbing seven to eight hours per day to be ready for the start of the season.
The tight end has said he’ll make his decision by the start of the league year on March 11. Expect a contract to be finalized before then.

Amidst the Chiefs fight for the playoffs and the chase for a 4th straight Super Bowl appearance, Travis Kelce has shared he is considering his future in the NFL. Kelce said he will decide on retirement prior to free agency in March.
At 36, Kelce is the TE3 in fantasy football and his 13.9 fantasy points per game ranks 5th. While still productive, Kelce has shown signs of slowing down. Should Kelce decide to continue playing for another season, Chiefs fans and Swifties surely would rejoice!

The verdict is in on the NFL’s top 10 tight ends. ESPN surveyed NFL coaches, executives, and scouts to get a ranking on the best tight ends in the league. After a superb 2024 rookie campaign, Brock Bowers takes the No.1 spot.
Bowers had 112 receptions on 153 targets in 17 games played and was the TE1 in fantasy. Bowers surupasses George Kittle who is an originator of Tight End University. Travis Kelce falls from the top spot down to 5 as he enters his age 35 season.
A very interesting wrinkle to the rankings are both Ravens tight ends Mark Andrews (6th) and Isaiah Likely (8th) making the list. This respect around the league for Likely shows how strong a tight end room the Ravens have. There has been growing pressure on Andrews to be traded and fantasy gamers wishcasting Likely to the top of the Ravens depth chart.
While this survey is mere opinion, it gives incredible insight to how each player at the position is viewed. Fantasy rankings are rampant and this survey is unique in that it peels back the curtain on how the NFL’s decision makers think as far as player evaluation.
