Tee Higgins Anticipates Staying in Cincinnati
2 weeks ago

In an interview, Tee Higgins anticipates staying in Cincy.

During a youth football camp, Tee Higgins was asked during an interview about the off-season and next steps for him. Being asked if he plans to stay in Cincinnati, Tee Higgins said “I do anticipate it. I’ve grown a love for Cincy that I didn’t think I would. But I’m looking forward to it.”

Tee Higgins was franchise tagged this off-season which frustrated him, leading up to a trade request. Contracts continue to be discussed and nothing is off the table, yet after hearing his interest in staying in Cincinnati, Higgins and the Bengals have some work ahead of them to work out a contract both parties can agree upon.

Tee Higgins Requests Trade

Tee Higgins has asked the Cincinnati Bengals to trade him after being franchise-tagged.

Two weeks ago the Cincinnati Bengals placed the franchise tag on Tee Higgins. Now, Tee Higgins is requesting the Bengals trade him.

Reports are that the Higgins camp has not been in contact with the Bengals since March of 2023. The Bengals have claimed they wanted to get a long term deal done. This has become a messy situation for all parties and may not be resolved soon.

The Cincinnati Bengals Have Informed Tee Higgins That he Will be Franchise Tagged

The Cincinnati Bengals have informed Tee Higgins that he will be franchise tagged.

The Cincinnati Bengals have informed Tee Higgins that he will be franchise tagged. This was an anticipated move by the Bengals, it will now keep Higgins with the team when free agency opens on March 13th. This move will allow the Bengals some breathing room in hopes of striking a long-term deal with Higgins. If the two sides cannot agree on a long-term deal, Higgins would then play out the 2024 season under the franchise tag earning him $21.8 million for the season.

The Bengals came up well short of expectations in 2023, riddled with injuries to key players and Higgins was no exception, missing 5 games in 2023. Higgins finished 2023 as the WR51 in PPR formats, tallying 42 receptions for 656 and 5 touchdowns. Higgins should be in line for a bounce back year with a healthy Joe Burrow. Higgins finished 2021 as the WR23 and 2022 as the WR18,  solid WR2 production. At 25, entering his prime of his career, Higgins is currently being valued as a WR3 in dynasty start-ups, and is looking like a value if his price doesn’t inflate too much with this news.

Tee Higgins- Back for week 13

Tee Higgins is back week 13 at Jacksonville.

As expected, star WR Tee Higgins will be back week 13 for the Cincinnati Bengals. Higgins missed the last 3 weeks after he injured his hamstring in practice. The Bengals refused to add Higgins to the IR making his return this week all but inevitable.

Unfourtunalely for Higgins and the Bengals, star QB Joe Burrow will not be back this year. Higgins has not caught passes in a game from Jake Browning yet, so that is a new dynamic to look out for. Browning has predictably been bad for the Bengals offense and the pass catchers. The overall passing volume has been down since Browning entered the lineup, and the targets have been spread throughout the team.

Having Higgins back is going to help the offense, but Jake Browning being the QB will hurt more than Higgins will help against a good Jacksonville Jaguars defense. Higgins was starting to heat up with Burrow in his last game 3 weeks ago, but with Browning in, there is no optimism he will be able to support several pass catchers. Ja’Marr Chase is still the alpha, and with less overall pass volume, it’s best not to trust Higgins in his first game back.

Tee Higgins OUT week 12

Tee Higgins ruled OUT for week 12

Bengals star WR Tee Higgins has been ruled OUT for a second straight week with a hamstring injury. The news of Higgins missing this week comes as no surprise, his hamstring issue has hampered him all season and we expected him to miss multiple weeks. This is now the 3rd straight week Higgins has missed.

The Bengals will continue to move forward with Tyler Boyd and Trenton Irwin stepping up to play the WR2 and WR3 roles in the offense. Ja’Marr Chase will continue to be the unquestioned top target earner and even with Jake Browning in at QB for the injured Joe Burrow, Chase is in line for a massive workload. Tyler Boyd and Trenton Irwin who both performed decently with Burrow are no longer worth a roster spot with Browning at the helm.

Moving forward Higgins may be a candidate to return to action next week. The Bengals refused to put him on IR meaning they expected he could return within 4 weeks. Next week will be the 4th week since Higgins re-injured his hamstring, so fingers are crossed for fantasy managers everywhere hoping for a return.

Tee Higgins OUT Week 11

Tee Higgins has been ruled out by the Bengals for Thursday night due to his recurring hamstring injury.

As anticipated, Tee Higgins will sit out for the second consecutive week due to the hamstring injury he aggravated in practice before week 10, especially challenging given the short week leading up to Thursday Night Football.

Last week, Tyler Boyd and Trenton Irwin stepped up admirably in Higgins’ absence against the Houston Texans. Boyd, a PPR standout, recorded an impressive 12 targets, making 8 catches for 117 yards. Irwin found the end zone early with a 32-yard catch, contributing significantly to the team’s success. Despite dealing with a back injury, Ja’Marr Chase had an efficient day, catching 5 of 6 targets for 124 yards and a touchdown.

With Tee Higgins still sidelined, even in a challenging matchup against Baltimore on a short week, Cincinnati remains a solid fantasy option. Joe Burrow’s excellent form and full health make the Bengals’ passing game a reliable choice. Chase, now off the injury report, is a definite must-start, while Boyd and Irwin continue to present solid flex options. The Bengals’ passing attack remains a promising bet, considering Burrow’s performance and the competitive landscape as both teams vie for the division and a playoff spot.
