Wide Receiver vs. Cornerback Matchups to Target: Week 4

by Jesse Reeves, September 29, 2019

Christian Kirk is the highlight of this week’s wide receiver matchup column. Logging 10 receptions for 59 rec yards for 15.9 (No. 24 among qualified wide receivers) fantasy points last week, he is in a smash spot for week four. Kirk faced a top passing defense in the Panthers last week, but draws a favorable matchup in Tre Flowers this Sunday.

From a fantasy perspective, Janoris Jenkins is as generous as cornerbacks come. His 23.7 (No. 72) Fantasy Points Allowed Per Game are staggering. However, it’s his 2.16 (No. 61) Fantasy Points Per Target that make Paul Richardson a strong play this week.

Johnson + Johnson = Lock Button Plays For Week 4

by Alex Johnson, September 27, 2019

David Johnson is top-five among running backs in both snap share and opportunity share and seventh in fantasy points per game. The Cardinals haven’t seen a bad defense yet this season—until now. With one of the highest expected point totals on the slate, this one is set up perfectly for a classic smash performance from DJ.

Tyler Lockett draws a juicy Week 4 matchup with the Cardinals, who have allowed the second most passing touchdowns (nine). They have been the worst team at defending the slot, where he has played on 65.7-percent of his snaps. Yet, somehow he is still only $6,600 on FanDuel and $6,300 on DraftKings. Lock-in Lockett as a WR1.

The Long Gain: Bargain Running Backs to Target in Week 4

by Zach Krueger, September 27, 2019

As it stands right now, Conner has a 79.7-percent Opportunity Share (no. 6), but has just 97 rushing yards on the season (no. 39) and 70 receiving yards (no. 19). James Conner has yet to reach 100+ total yards in a game this season and is averaging only 2.9 yards per carry. With that being said, you can consider Week 4 to be James Conner’s get right week.

Josh Jacobs exploded out of the gate in Week 1 against the Broncos when he managed to go for 113 total yards and two touchdowns, finishing as the RB6 with 24.3 fantasy points. He has struggled to get going since then, posting only 9.9 (No. 28) fantasy points in Week 2 and 4.4 (No. 49) fantasy points in Week 3.

Cheap DFS Lineup Makers for Week 4

by Taylor Smith, September 27, 2019

Wayne Gallman is stepping into the ideal situation, as the Giants have afforded Saquon Barkley the No. 2 ranked Run Blocking Efficiency thus far. He is a strong candidate to smash value, making him a staple lineup maker for your DFS cash team.

Will Dissly has been efficient across the board, as evidenced by his No. 1 ranked Production Premium. He has a cupcake matchup with the Cardinals this week, who are ceding the most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends. A Wilson-Lockett-Dissly stack could be the nuts this week.

DraftKings Value Plays and GPP Targets for Week 4

by Matthew Gajewski, September 26, 2019

With the Week 4 main slate featuring tighter pricing, advanced stats and metrics point to a few distinct edges. After a breakout performance for 39.2 DK points, Daniel Jones saw his salary increase by a mere $300 ahead of Week 4.

Priced like a time-share back, Marlon Mack quietly continues to dominate opportunities in Indianapolis. Entering Week 3 as a game-time decision, Mack still racked up 16 carries on a 62-percent snap share.

Leveraging the NFL’s most volatile wide receivers for fantasy football upside

by Matthew M. Stevens, September 26, 2019

Adam Thielen faces an uphill battle to maintain his current pace of production. Through three weeks he’s thrived off unsustainable efficiency and touchdowns. When you factor in Thielen’s average Weekly Volatility mark (8.97) over the past three seasons it becomes clear he’s a screaming sell-high in redraft leagues.

Mike Williams truthers rejoice, he looks primed for a fantasy outburst. He played 100-percent of the snaps in Week 3 and doubled the number of routes he ran from Week 1 (21-42). The Chargers rank No. 7 in pass plays per game and Williams is averaging a healthy 19.6 YPR, among the best in the league (No. 11).

Who are the biggest fantasy football busts from Week 3?

by Granola Jeremy, September 25, 2019

According to the offseason coaching narrative, Matt LaFleur and Aaron Rodgers were going to light the turf on fire. Rodgers’ 841 (No. 17 among qualified quarterbacks) yards of Attempt Distance, negative-15.4 (No. 25) Production Premium and 13.5 (No. 22) Fantasy Points Per Game say otherwise.

The Seahawks have a negative-5.54 (No. 22) Game-Script that should lead to more opportunities for C.J. Prosise. Combine that with Chris Carson’s fumbling issues, and a healthy Rashaad Penny in Week 4, and Carson’s floor/ceiling drops.

Fantasy Football Trends to Watch – Week 4 Edition

by Matthew Gajewski, September 25, 2019

Recent usage points to Nick Chubb as a strong buy low in fantasy football. Heading into Week 3, Freddie Kitchens spoke on involving Chubb more in all phases of the game. Living up to that promise, he played on 97-percent of the snaps and handled 100-percent of the running back opportunities against the Rams.

While most believe Aaron Jones deserves the starting running back job in Green Bay, Jamaal Williams has actually performed slightly better when on the field this year. Williams’ +8.6 (No. 22) Production Premium and 39.4-percent (No. 6) Juke Rate both rank ahead of Jones.

Andy Reid Honey Badger and Other Week 3 Waiver Targets

by Josh Crocker, September 24, 2019

Darrel Williams’ 9.3-percent (68th-percentile) College Target Share is a signal that he will be able to contribute as more than a between-the-tackles grinder. In a small sample of touches, he has produced 1.01 (No. 36) Fantasy Points per Opportunity. That mark more than betters Darwin Thompson’s 0.37 (No. 82) Fantasy Points per Opportunity.

Rex Burkhead is not seeing as much volume as he would need to be a consistent week to week option. Though there will be weeks like Week 3, when one or more members of the regular running back rotation are out and the usage becomes more predictable. In those situations, the value of touches in this offense makes Burkhead a plug-and-play RB2.

Week 3 Key Takeaways: Daniel Jones & Kyle Allen Smash

by Tyler Strong, September 23, 2019

With the Seattle defense getting burned week in and week out, Pete Carroll and Schottenheimer’s best laid plans often go awry and lead to Wilson having to do it all and save the day. And Lockett is benefiting. He doesn’t have to be as efficient as last year if his volume is going to see this much of an uptick.

Daniel Jones needed this confidence-building comeback win today because he’s got Washington, Minnesota, and New England the next three weeks, and it’s doubtful Saquon Barkley will be available for any of those contests.
