The Fantasy Supermarket: Trade Targets Going Into Week 11

by Matt Babich · Trades Buy/Sell

There’s a sale going on at THE FANTASY SUPERMARKET! Every week, there are players whose prices are either slashed due to recent performance or not yet as high as you should be willing to pay for them.

These players are all primed for value increases in the near future. Using advanced stats and metrics, I’ll be walking you through this week’s supermarket sales and highlighting players you should be looking to buy before the next slate of contests.
Act now, because this sale isn’t going to last long.

Russell Wilson

Russell Wilson‘s kitchen was empty in his return to action. That is, to say, Chef Russ was unable to cook. This was a troubling sign for managers, but the sound of opportunity knocking for those looking to acquire him. As the trade deadline approaches, managers look to fully commit to their playoff-push roster. This is when some managers are going to be quicker to get out from underneath certain players. Following the four point dud, Wilson averages 17.9 (No. 14 among qualified quarterbacks) Fantasy Points per Game. This is certainly below expectations, but he is about to hit a league-winning stretch of schedule running all the way through Championship Week.

Wilson is productive and efficiency, posting a +16.2 (No. 1) Production Premium and a 100.5 (No. 7) True Passer Rating. He’s produced 20 fantasy points in three of six games this year. Now he’s one week away from a cupcake rest-of-season schedule. Despite freshly coming off of a finger injury, he threw 40 passing attempts. That’s a season high. The Seahawks need to start winning games if they want to stay relevant. That starts with Russell Wilson. Go get the chef before he gets back to cooking.

Odell Beckham

I’ll admit that this one is risky, but you don’t win championships without taking home-run swings. Odell Beckham has the potential to be on a massive amount of league winning rosters. His overall debut as a Ram was disappointing, but let’s look a little deeper. The first play from scrimmage was a pass to Beckham. Maybe that seems like nothing, but it screams that he will be a major factor in this offense. They are going to look to give him the ball. This isn’t Cleveland anymore, this is Los Angeles.

Odell Beckham Advanced Stats & Metrics Profile

Matthew Stafford and the Rams offense are major upgrades. With Robert Woods gone for the year, there exists a massive opportunity for the taking. Van Jefferson isn’t going to take it. Ben Skowronek isn’t going to take it either. It’s going to be Beckham. He’s ranked as a Top 25 WR rest-of-season in the PlayerProfiler Player Rankings. There’s a solid chance that he is still a shade of his old self. If he is, he is well worth his trade price.

And now for this week’s certified, locked and loaded, Fantasy Supermarket BUY OF THE WEEK…

A.J. Dillon

Aaron Jones has fallen victim to a knee injury, and the best case scenario is that he is out through Green Bay’s Week 13 bye. That may be too early, as knee injuries are nothing to come back early from. A.J. Dillon is one of the few backup running backs that slot into the “league winner” category should their team’s lead back get injured. He’s been slowly making a name for himself, racking up at least 50 rushing yards in six of his last seven games and 4 receptions in two games.

A.J. Dillon Advanced Stats & Metrics Profile

Dillon is a size-speed specimen. Few are built the way he is. He’s 6-0, 247-pounds, and has a 117.3 (97th-percentile) Speed Score and 135.2 (97th-percentile) Burst Score. With Jones out, Dillon steps into a bell-cow role. It’s unlikely that he is still available on the waiver wire, but managers are likely underplaying Jones’s injury and the benefit to Dillon even if he returns post bye. If Jones has to be eased back, Dillon could be a weekly flex throughout the fantasy playoffs. Trade an easily replaceable WR3/Flex level receiver or low-upside back for Dillon, and ride that move all the way to a championship.

You don’t win fantasy leagues through the draft. You win by taking advantage of the waiver wire and trade market. This year’s early season shenanigans present ample opportunity to push your team to the next level. Start by targeting these players. Time is running out. The Fantasy Supermarket will be closing its doors soon. Shop now and make the moves you need to win a fantasy championship.
