Broncos WR Marvin Mims said he will be intrigued to see how he fits in alongside new Broncos Z receiver Jaylen Waddle.
The Waddle trade was a true gut punch for Marvin Mims dynasty truthers. Appearing on Altitude TV, Marvin Mims voiced surprise at the Broncos’ trade for Jaylen Waddle while acknowledging their similar, explosive playing styles.
Though Mims takes pride in his versatility as a receiver and returner, he has yet to establish himself as a consistent starter three years into his career. With Waddle now in the fold, the 24-year-old Mims is expected to remain a versatile but fantasy-unfriendly depth piece for the 2026 campaign.

The Denver Broncos traded up to draft wide receiver Marvin ...
In Thursday Night Football Denver Broncos have announced wide receiver Marvin Mims will not be playing due to concussion. He is still battling through the injury, this is the second straight game he will be missing. But on positive not he will have 10 days to hopefully be back to playing. Start up Troy Franklin in the absence of Marvin Mims.

Veteran wide receiver Courtland Sutton hands a vote of confidence to third-year wide receiver Marvin Mims to be the wide receiver two for the Denver Broncos and notes that Mims “can make plays anywhere”. Mims was drafted sixty-third overall in the 2023 NFL draft and has been stuck in a part-time role since joining the Broncos. He has demonstrated excellent per-play efficiency, stemming from his ability to gain yards after the catch.
If Mims has secured the wide receiver two role, that means he will remain on the field in two wide receiver sets and will have the opportunity for a breakout this season. In the last pre-season game, he ran 100% of the routes with the first-team offense, echoing the confidence Sutton shares in him. Fantasy managers got a small sample of what Mims is capable of at the end of the season, scoring as the wide receiver four and six, respectively. In those two games, he recorded thirteen catches, one hundred and fifty-four yards and four touchdowns. Mims has an Underdog ADP of 125-130, making him a low-risk, high-reward pick.

Despite receiving under 50% of the snaps in all 17 regular-season games in 2024, Marvin Mims finished the season strong. He had 13 catches for 154 yards and four touchdowns in the final two regular-season games. He then played in 69% of the team’s snaps in their wild-card matchup against the Bills. He drew praise from head coach Sean Payton, who said he “was mad at himself” for not utilizing the speedster more in the beginning of the season.
The Broncos have a lot of players in the mix for their WR2 alongside Courtland Sutton. Mims will look to fend off the likes of Troy Franklin, Devaughn Vele, and Rookie 3rd-round pick Pat Bryant to secure the job. Mims has been a solid gadget player and return man in his two seasons. He’s a big play waiting to happen, and his athleticism could give him the edge in these positional battles.
I like Mims as much as any late-round dart throw. There isn’t much risk in picking him up and seeing if he pops off early in the season. Long term, Pat Bryant may be the better fantasy option even for next year later in the season. Bryant has a very similar game to Sutton and, therefore, might not have a huge role early on. Mims certainly profiles better as the lightning to Sutton’s thunder.

Mims amassed 30 total yards on his 7 touches. It was exciting to see him utilized out of the backfield, making Head Coach Sean Payton draw comparisons of his usage to the likes of Deebo Samuel and Cordarrelle Patterson.
Broncos country has been pounding the table to get Mims more involved on offense ever since he was taken in the 2nd round of the 2023 NFL draft. Mims hasn’t eclipsed more than a 50% snap share since week 11 of his rookie season, which is a major concern for fantasy managers. While his creative deployment against the Chiefs was certainly encouraging to see, he only played a measly 22% of the snaps for the Broncos offense in their week 10 loss.
Mims continues to be a player worth holding onto in dynasty in hopes that he will have a breakthrough in the second half of this season. His usage going forward will be worth monitoring, as he could be a sneaky trade target if his snaps ramp up and the coaching staff continue scheming up interesting ways to get the ball in his hands.

Marvin Mims could be in line to see more playing time with Jerry Jeudy now in Cleveland. Denver Broncos HC Sean Payton on Mims after the Jeudy trade “Marvin certainly will be a candidate to play more snaps because of that, and there will be some competition, I’m sure.” One would certainly hope so after using what little draft capital the Broncos had in 2023, by moving up in the second round to grab Marvin Mims with the 63 overall pick. I am not buying this, we should be seeing plenty of Mims in 2024,
Many fantasy managers were salivating after the huge first half in week 2 from Mims where he exploded for 113 yards and a touchdown on 2 targets, and then to almost never to be seen again for the rest of the year. With Tim Patrick likely eased back from injury, and Courtland Sutton potentially on the move, Mims is positioned well for a year 2 breakout.
