MarShawn Lloyd rode an elite 111.2 Speed Score (93rd-percentile) to third round draft capital in 2025. Entering his third season, Lloyd is completely past the precautionary early OTA restrictions that followed an injury-plagued first two seasons. He has spent the offseason fine-tuning his explosiveness and positioning himself to command a significant share of Green Bay’s backfield touches.
With starter Josh Jacobs facing a dark legal cloud after commanding a dominant 60.4-percent Snap Share last season, Lloyd is a sexy RB stash for fantasy football leagues. Lloyd must supplant Chris Brooks to secure the coveted GB handcuff role and secure massive contingent upside. He must be rostered in all dynasty league formats and could be an attractive best ball option if he starts running with the twos.

The DA’s office didn’t have enough to hold him, so Josh Jacobs has been released from custody after a stunning Tuesday arrest on five severe domestic abuse allegations, including felony strangulation. Jacobs could be charged at any time during the ongoing investigation.
The NFL has now prefers to let the legal process play out rather than preemptively suspending players who intersect with law enforcement off the field. Jacobs’ immediate release now makes a stint on the Commissioner’s Exempt List less likely.
Josh Jacobs was arrested on five severe charges over Memorial Day weekend—including felony strangulation—following a domestic disturbance complaint, though the 28-year-old running back vehemently denies the allegations through his attorneys. This is a high-stakes situation for the Packers’ primary running back who commanded a 60.4% Snap Share and handled 57 Red Zone Touches for the Packers last season.
With a long-term NFL investigation and a potential Commissioner’s Exempt List stint looming, fantasy managers must prepare for the very real possibility that Jacobs will be suspended for a portion of the 2026 season. At age-28, this shocking news will significantly impact Jacobs’ value in dynasty as well as seasonal and best ball formats.
Lloyd just cannot stay healthy. The former third round pick of the Packers in 2024 only played in one game last season. Now he is set to miss at least the first four games due to a hamstring injury.
Emanuel Wilson may be the Packers handcuff you want. Wilson rushed for 502 yards on 103 carries and scored 4 rushing TDs in 2024. Chris Brooks may also mix in, but Brooks was limited to 36 carries for fewer than 200 yards. Both backs were efficient for the Packers last year, but still expect Jacobs to handle the majority of RB touches in 2025.

Marshawn Lloyd was expected to have a very large role in the Packers running game in 2024. The third round pick in April’s draft was hampered by injuries all off-season, and only played snaps in one game in 2024. He struggled to stay, healthy, costing him valuable reps.
However, Lloyd enters 2025 healthy. Behind Josh Jacobs, the depth chart is wide open. Lloyd certainly carries draft capital which is an indication of sponsorship. It will be interesting to see one of the Packers give Loyd more chances this off-season. He is one of the most valuable handcuffs, and goes very late in drafts.

Green Bay Packers rookie RB MarShawn Lloyd got his first taste of the NFL in week two. During the game Lloyd suffered an injury to his ankle. He did not return to the game. This injury now lands Lloyd on the IR. He will miss a minimum of 4 week. Lloyd was already coming back from a hamstring injury, which made him miss week 1 now he’ll miss 4 more games.
In the game verse the Colts Lloyd played 14% of snaps and carried the ball 6 times for only 15 yards. He was inefficient during his NFL debut, but now will have to wait another 4 weeks to return to action.
Following the news Packers have signed Chris Brooks from the practice squad. He will serve as the third RB for the Packers behind heavy work horse Josh Jacobs and Emanuel Wilson. For fantasy he can be drop or placed into the IR spot if available.
