With two days to go before rookies report to training camp, the New England Patriots and TreVeyon Henderson don’t have a deal done.
TreVeyon Henderson is one of the thirty 2nd round draft picks to remain unsigned so the Patriots aren’t the only team dealing with this issue. Rookies are due to report to training camps across the league in the coming days so the pressure is on for teams and their rookies to reach agreements. Henderson did participate in OTAs and mini-camp without a deal in place, but there’s no guarantee he does the same for training camp.
Expectations are high for Henderson, both from the New England Patriots and fantasy managers, any missed time at training camp could negatively impact those expectations and his ADP. For now, continue to draft Henderson at his price of a 5th or 6th round pick, but that could change within the next 48 hours.

New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson signed...

The Patriots second round pick is using opportunities at voluntary organized team activities to let his athleticism shine
According to Patriots beat writer Chad Graff, TreVeyon Henderson has really put his speed and burst on display with the team, really standing out in the offense. Even though one could argue that running back was not a top need, the Patriots roster lacked explosive playmakers. TreVeyon could step in as one of the very best playmakers on the team, he might be a top 3 pass catcher on the roster – Henderson averaged over 10 yards per catch across his entire collegiate career, the second highest average amongst the top RB’s in his 2025 draft class.
The range of outcomes for the Patriots is a broad one, Drake Maye will have to take a second year leap and avoid a sophomore slump, the wide receiver room needs a few players to step up, Coach Mike Vrabel and OC Josh McDaniels will need to turn the ship around on offense, and the line will need a huge turnaround from last year. Despite all the uncertainty, TreVeyon Henderson has the juice to push for a surprisingly high finish as early as this year in fantasy – between his propensity for explosive plays, pass catching ability and blocking prowess, he very well could be a player the Pats can’t take off their field.

After a rather uneventful NFL Draft for the Bengals skill position players, Chase Brown emerges as a winner in dynasty.
The NFL Draft had plenty of fireworks that had risers and fallers in dynasty. One unexpected winner that has emerged is Bengals running back Chase Brown.
The Bengals were expected to add running back talent early in the draft. Having had visits with Ohio State running backs TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins, it came as a surprise when the Bengals only ended up with Texas Tech running back Tahj Brooks in the 6th round.
While Brooks is a capable back who will help with depth, this is excellent signal for Chase Brown as his stock in dynasty remains safe and is rising. Being able to decipher which players will remain safe after the NFL Draft is an enviable skill that the best dynasty managers have. Fantasy gamers who held on through the draft will be rewarded in 2025.

New England continues to build talent on offense by selecting the second Ohio State running back in the second round of 2025.
TreVeyon Henderson earns good draft capital and a very interesting landing spot in New England. While initially in a split backfield with Rhamondre Stevenson (who the team just extended last year), the longer term outlook is very positive. The Patriots are heavily investing in their franchise quarterback, shoring up their O-line with a premier 1st round pick and trading for Stefon Diggs in free agency.
The PlayerProfiler analytics team has an initial projection of a 39% rush share for Henderson in 2025 — good for approximately 800 yards on the ground, with another 30 catches for about 200 yards and roughly 6 touchdowns. The two backs may be in a dreaded hot hand situation initially, but IF Rhamondre Stevenson misses time or continues to fumble, Henderson could catapult into a top back sooner rather than later.

Just two days before the NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs conducted a virtual visit with Ohio State Running Back TreVeyon Henderson.
The Chiefs’ virtual visit with Ohio State Running Back TreVeyon Henderson seems more like due diligence than late-stage interest.
However, it’s more than logical that the Chiefs would be looking hard at running back in the draft after Isiah Pacheco suffered injuries and the team was left starting Kareem Hunt most of 2024. Henderson is mocked as a late-1st /early 2nd round pick in the 2025 Draft, which fits for the Chiefs picking at 31 overall.

30% of Pittsburgh Steelers pre-draft visits have been with running backs, with just a few day to go until draft night. Not a good sign for Jaylen Warren’s outlook as a featured back this season.
Jaylen Warren has put together impressive spot performances for Pittsburg, especially for an undrafted free agent walk-on. It’s easy to be captivated by efficiency metrics such as his 5.2 yards per touch (#13 last year), or 4.17 yards created per touch (#9 LY) and project those into a monster season post Najee Harris departure. However, reading the tea leaves and looking at historical data should really temper those expectations.
Pittsburg has hosted 30 pre-draft visits with potential rookies, 9 of those have been running backs. The list of backs include: TreVeyon Henderson, RJ Harvey, Ollie Gordon II, Omarion Hampton, Bhayshul Tuten, Kaleb Johnson and Dylan Sampson. Thinking critically through this list, any of those backs could supplant Warren and keep him in a secondary role. Add to this Coach Tomlins propensity to feed his primary back when he has a stud on his hands, and the frequency of which NFL teams have completely abandoned UDFA running backs even after productive seasons – Jalen Warren should be a stay away in Dynasty at this point in the process.
