De'Von Achane Expected to be Inactive for Week 1
7 months ago

Rookie De’Von Achane is expected to miss the Dolphins’ Week 1 contest versus the Chargers.

The highly anticipated debut of De’Von Achane will be put on ice as it appears that he will miss the Week 1 contest against the Los Angeles Chargers. Achane was drafted in the third round out of  Texas A&M but unfortunately has been dealing with a shoulder injury since injuring it during the Dolphins’ preseason game versus the Texans. The rookie was looking like an excellent sleeper for Week 1, especially after Jeff Wilson landed on the IR early this week, but now managers have to wait to see if he can be ready for Week 2.

With Achane inactive, look for Raheem Mostert to handle the majority of the touches and be a possible RB2 for fantasy managers for Week 1. Mostert should be inserted into line-ups as either an RB2 or Flex play this week. In deeper PPR leagues Salvon Ahmed could be picked up as a really deep Flex option. In dynasty leagues, also consider adding Chris Brooks since he will be active today and could surprise many fantasy managers and garner some touches as well.

Dolphins' RB Jeff Wilson Placed On IR

The Miami Dolphins placed running back Jeff Wilson Jr. on the injured reserve list.

Miami’s projected starting RB Jeff Wilson Jr. will begin the season on the IR, missing at least four weeks. In his most recent statement head coach Mike McDaniel described it as a “midsection injury compounded by some finger issues.” Wilson Jr. was productive for Miami in 2022, putting up back-to-back top-10 RB finishes immediately after being traded from San Francisco on his way to an (84/393/3; 12/94/1) finish.

The news sent immediate shockwaves throughout draft rooms and site ranks everywhere. Fantasy gamers presumed Wilson Jr. would begin the year with a prominent backfield role for a prolific offense, making him a very intriguing late-round pick. The severity of the injury is yet to be determined but the outlook is grim. When questioned when Wilson might suit up, McDaniel said “I wouldn’t be surprised if he would make a return this season. We will let his body tell us.” So it’s wheels up for Raheem Mostert and rookie De’von Achane, who we were told will be practicing before Week 1. Expect ADPs for the remaining healthy Dolphin RBs to rise as we approach kickoff.

De'Von Achane Day-to-Day with Undisclosed Injury
8 months ago

Miami Dolphins rookie RB is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury.

By all accounts Dolphins’ rookie running back De’Von Achane has been electrifying throughout the opening days of training camp. He has been explosive as a rusher and picking up yards in chunks as a receiver.

A slight damper was put on the rookie today, as he limped off the field early in practice and was removed for the duration of the day. He would later return to work on the sidelines in a rehab assignment. The team has not given a specific update on his injury, only saying that he walked off gingerly and they won’t speculate on the exact injury, but that it wasn’t overly concerning. Mike McDaniel went on to say that they “had no concern for long-term injury and that he shouldn’t be out long”
