The Green Bay Packers released their 53 man roster, and officially placed Marshawn Loyd on the injured reserve.
Lloyd just cannot stay healthy. The former third round pick of the Packers in 2024 only played in one game last season. Now he is set to miss at least the first four games due to a hamstring injury.
Emanuel Wilson may be the Packers handcuff you want. Wilson rushed for 502 yards on 103 carries and scored 4 rushing TDs in 2024. Chris Brooks may also mix in, but Brooks was limited to 36 carries for fewer than 200 yards. Both backs were efficient for the Packers last year, but still expect Jacobs to handle the majority of RB touches in 2025.

Green Bay Packers back up running back Chris Brooks has earned an increase in snaps as of late.
Running back Chris Brooks of the Green Bay Packers has seen an uptick in usage and snaps over the last four weeks. Brooks has earned at least a 20% snap share during that span. This includes week 12 game where he set a season high 35% snap share. Brooks has earned five touches in two of the previous three contests.
Emmanuel Wilson, the back up to Jacobs for most of the season, has not earned more than 25% of snaps since week six. That being said, Wilson has still out touched Brooks during that span.
The emergence of Brooks has not impacted Josh Jacobs role in anyway. However, it has created a murky situation if Jacobs were to go down with an injury late season. Brooks is worth monitoring in any size of league given this potential.

Green Bay Packers have signed RB Chris Brooks to active roster.
Green Bay Packers have promoted running back Chris Brooks to the active roster. This move comes due to rookie MarShawn Lloyd landing on the injured reserve. Brooks will serve as the third running back for the Packers, behind work horse RB Josh Jacobs, and backup Emanuel Wilson.
For fantasy purposes is one to monitor in case Jacobs or Wilson has an injured. But for now, he can be left off fantasy teams.
Rookie De’Von Achane is expected to miss the Dolphins’ Week 1 contest versus the Chargers.
The highly anticipated debut of De’Von Achane will be put on ice as it appears that he will miss the Week 1 contest against the Los Angeles Chargers. Achane was drafted in the third round out of Texas A&M but unfortunately has been dealing with a shoulder injury since injuring it during the Dolphins’ preseason game versus the Texans. The rookie was looking like an excellent sleeper for Week 1, especially after Jeff Wilson landed on the IR early this week, but now managers have to wait to see if he can be ready for Week 2.
With Achane inactive, look for Raheem Mostert to handle the majority of the touches and be a possible RB2 for fantasy managers for Week 1. Mostert should be inserted into line-ups as either an RB2 or Flex play this week. In deeper PPR leagues Salvon Ahmed could be picked up as a really deep Flex option. In dynasty leagues, also consider adding Chris Brooks since he will be active today and could surprise many fantasy managers and garner some touches as well.
