Shedeur Sanders
The Cleveland Browns May Not be the Top Choice for Shedeur Sanders
1 week ago

While the Browns may want to select Shedeur Sanders with the No.2 overall pick, the feeling may not be reciprocal.

With Cam Ward being selected at the No.1 overall by the Tennessee Titans becoming more crystallized each day, the nexus of focus swings towards what the Cleveland Browns will do with pick 2 overall in the NFL Draft.

Quarterback is the largest draw when it comes to attention in the NFL. Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders is no stranger to it being that his father is Deion Sanders. It has come out that ESPN analyst Louis Riddick met with and talked with Deion Sanders recently. The communication outwardly from the Shedeur Sanders camp has been all about football and being ready to play wherever Sanders is selected.

Riddick has spoken to the fact that it wouldn’t be the worst thing if Shedeur slid in the draft and missed out on the top 3 picks with the No.3 pick belonging to the New York Giants. This is fueling speculation that the Sanders camp may have their eye on teams that are beyond the first 3 picks. With the Browns having a poor reputation for quarterback turnover, it makes sense that internally Shedeur Sanders and company would want to be selected by another team.

Look no further than Baker Mayfield when it comes to proper support to see that it should come as no surprise that the Cleveland Browns are considered a flyover team when it comes to players personal preference. Riddick made mention of the Raiders, Saints and Steelers as teams he would envision as a perfect fit for Shedeur Sanders. Keep an eye on betting markets to see if this is signal or noise. If the odds shift in favor of the 3 teams Louis Riddick mentioned it may be time to tear up those mock drafts and start over.
