Saquon Barkley continues to build an all time great playoff resume
3 weeks ago

Barkley continues to add to his outstanding playoff resume with another MONSTER performance.

Saquon Barkley continues his dominant 2024-25 campaign, adding to what is quickly becoming quite the playoff resume.  Barkley scored on his first touch from scrimmage, a 60 yard TD run.  He then scored on his 2nd touch, a 4 yard TD run.  Those two touchdowns tied Barkley with Franco Harris for most playoff TDs in their first 7 games, with 6 rushing scores.  His third score of the day put him in first place, and Barkley has done it in his 5th career playoff game.

Barkley rushed for 118 yards on 15 carries vs the Commanders, his 2nd game this postseason averaging over 7 yards per carry.  For his career now Barkley is averaging 6.6 yards per carry in the playoffs, the highest mark in the history of the NFL.  This was also Barkley’s 3rd 100+ yard effort in the postseason, which is tied for 2nd all time with Hall of Fame running backs Terrell Davis, Thurman Thomas, Marcus Allen ,and Emmitt Smith.  Barkley has a chance to tie the leader, former Washington legend John Riggins in Super Bowl 59 next week.

Barkley’s historic 2000 yard pace has continued into the playoffs, and the Eagles are wise to continue leaning on the uber-talented factor back.  Barkley and the Eagles offensive line have been dominant, and there is very rarely an answer for their ability to hand the ball to 26 and let the magic happen.
