The Jets’ first round rookie WR Omar Cooper Jr. left Week 1’s contest vs. the Titans with an ankle injury and did not return. Cooper had a 30-yard catch and run for the Jets on the opening drive, showing the explosiveness and YAC ability that led to the Jets drafting him so high, but left one play later.
Head Coach Aaron Glenn did not have a detailed update on the injury in his post-game press conference but did say that he wasn’t worried about the severity of it. Cooper had fallen behind Adonai Mitchell and Isaiah Williams at one point during camp (Garrett Wilson the clear alpha) but had a strong close to camp to usurp Williams as WR3 to start the year. Now fantasy football managers will need to stay tuned for updates on Cooper’s status going forward. Cooper is No. 59 in PlayerProfiler’s WR dynasty rankings.
