Agent for Najee Harris, Doug Hendrickson says that Najee Harris sustained a superficial eye injury at a 4th of July event.
After plenty of rumors swirled around online message boards, it has finally been confirmed that Los Angeles Chargers running back Najee Harris sustained what is being called a superficial eye injury during an incident at a 4th of July event involving fireworks. It has been a rather quiet offseason for injury, arrests, and harmful incidents across the NFL.
The news harkens back memories of former New York Giant defensive lineman Jason Pierre-Paul who lost his right index finger and overall damage to that same hand after handling fireworks. It is a tough memory as it also occurred during 4th of July weekend in 2015. Harris’ agent, Doug Hendrickson said that Najee is fully expected to be ready for the upcoming NFL season. With unclear language as to whether this unfortunate accident will affect his week 1 status, fantasy gamers will be speculating on possible missed time for Harris.
Speculation will also run rampant as to the draft stock of rookie UNC running back Omarion Hampton. Hampton has a 3-down skill set and would absolutely feast should the backfield belong solely to him. Hampton goes in the early 5th round on FastDraft and late 4th round on Underdog as the RB15. Should clarity on Harris’ status indicate missed time, expect Hampton to vault up into the 2nd round in best ball and redraft formats.
