Tua Tagovailoa
Mike McDaniel Impressed By Tua Tagovailoa's Arm Strength at OTAs

Miami’s third-year head coach noted that Tagovailoa has been driving the ball with more force.

One of the recurring themes coming out of Miami during the Dolphins’ organized team activities this spring is that quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has made a concerted effort to put more velocity on his throws, according to head coach Mike McDaniel. McDaniel added that Tagovailoa has been “driving the ball with more force” and “looks more effortless now” when making these kinds of throws in tight windows.

While Tagovailoa projects as more of a mid-level QB2 in fantasy football, his marked improvement during OTAs only figures to boost his stock ahead of the 2024 season, especially because his arm strength has been viewed by many as his fatal flaw in Miami’s shortcomings in recent years. Combine that with an excellent stable of weapons that could be the most explosive in the league (Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Raheem Mostert, De’Von Achane, and now Odell Beckham, Jr.), and it’s now-or-never for the former fifth overall pick out of Alabama.
