If there was a shred of hope for the Jaguars to salvage this season, it was lost when an injury to Trevor Lawrence looked to have sidelined him. Now it appears that Lawrence will make his return in week 13, per an NFL.com report.

If Lawrence were to reinjure himself this late in the season, this decision could impact his availability for 25-26.  With their current record, they are contenders for the number one pick in next year’s draft. So why risk your franchise QB and your draft capital?

This is clearly a dance between the front office and the coaching staff. Many analysts, including myself, believed Doug Pederson would not see week 13 as Head Coach of the Jaguars. With Pederson remaining, the Lawerence start looks to be a prove it moment for Pederson. If Pederson still has this locker room, be prepared for the Jaguars to show up like they have something to play for.
