Kyren Williams placed on IR

The Los Angeles Rams have placed RB Kyren Williams on the IR after suffering an ankle injury.

The Los Angeles Rams roulette wheel of fantasy running backs continues to spin. After Sean McVay seemingly settled, finally, on a lead RB in the RB room, that lead RB, Kyren Williams has been placed on IR with an ankle sprain and will miss at least 4 weeks. Williams’ backfield-mate Ronnie Rivers has also been sidelined.

McVay pulled Myles Gaskin off of the Vikings practice squad and raised former Rams RB Darrell Henderson from the free-agent ashes to fill out his roster after the injuries. Those moves further muddied the waters surrounding rookie Zach Evans and post-hype veteran Royce Freeman.

With the potential for any number of combinations of snaps, carries, and receptions for LA’s multi-headed monster, neither Henderson, Evans, Gaskin, or Freeman should be on the fantasy-start radar until their actual roles are made clear. Given the injury climate at the position in fantasy this season, all four are potential pick-ups and starts if you’re desperate.
