Khalil Shakir Looking Good for Week One

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir returned to practice last week and is on track to play week one.

Khalil Shakir returned to practice last Wednesday after dealing with a high-ankle sprain suffered in early August. The Bills held him out about a month to allow him to rest the ankle as much as possible.

High ankle sprains typically have a four to six week recovery time and can linger throughout the season. Shakir suffering the injury so early in August will have allowed him approximately five weeks to heal before the season starts.

Shakir will likely have to shake off some rust but will retain his slot role and has been Josh Allen’s most reliable target in recent years.
