The New England Patriots released backup RB Kevin Harris.
The Patriots cut twenty-two-year-old former sixth-round RB Kevin Harris today. The release comes as a huge disappointment to the sophomore running back out of South Carolina, who hoped to compete for a third-string role in New England.
This cut comes in the wake of fellow 2nd year RB Pierre Strong’s trade to the Cleveland Browns.
It seems unfair to judge Harris’ talent on his eighteen touches in the NFL and it will be interesting to see if he garners attention elsewhere. The Patriots’ hair-trigger for roster cuts leaves Rhamondre Stevenson and Ezekiel Elliot as the only active RBs left, a decent boost for both in terms of fantasy.
