Josh Allen and the Bills dominate the Denver Broncos at home.
MVP hopeful Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen held serve at home against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, dominating in total yards, time of possession and particularly rush yards. The Broncos jumped out to an early lead with a 43 yard strike from Bo Nix to fellow rookie Troy Franklin, but that was the highlight of the day for the Broncos, as the Bills proceeded to utilize the ground game and clock control to take control of the game.
Bills running back James Cook set the tone in the first half, running for 78 yards and and a score. The game got broken open on a 4th and 1 deep in Broncos territory up 13-7 in the 3rd. Josh Allen made an MVP caliber play, keeping the play alive and finding running back Ty Johnson in the back of the end zone to put the Bills up 19-7. They would complete the 2pt conversion with a throw to Keon Coleman to make it 21-7. Allen later found wide receiver Curtis Samuel on a crossing pattern for a 55 yard score that made it 28-7.
Allen finished the game 20/26 for 272 yards and 2 scores, adding 8 carries for 46 yards on the ground. The Bills controlled the clock with 41:43 time of possession and 210 yards rushing on 44 attempts, nearly outgaining the Broncos total yardage (226 tot yards) with just their ground game. The Bills will host Baltimore in a battle of MVP leading candidates next week. It will be a rematch from week 4, where the Ravens defeated the Bills 35-10 in Baltimore.
