The New York Jets have waived running back Michael Carter.
Adam Schefter is reporting that the Jets have decided to move on from running back Michael Carter. After Carter was drafted in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, he complied 964 total yards and four touchdowns as a rookie. Through nine games this season Carter has only produced eight carries for 38 yards and 15 receptions for 68 yards.
Between the arrival of Dalvin Cook through free agency and the Jets drafting Israel Abanikanda, Carter became third fiddle in the Jets offense. Breece Hall is the RB1 hands down in this offense. Cook has been a non-factor this season for the Jets.
What this move does is give more opportunity for Abanikanda to get more touches. Abanikanda should have been stashed in dynasty leagues already but if he is for some reason available in your dynasty league’s waiver wire snatch him up ASAP. Abaikanda even becomes more appealing to add in deeper redraft leagues as a lottery ticket waiting to cash in should Hall get injured.
