Super Bowl 59 belongs to the Philadelphia Eagles and Jalen Hurts.
The Philadelphia Eagles destroyed the Kansas City Chiefs on Super Bowl Sunday to the tune of 40-22. While the game ended up being an 18 point victory for the Eagles, the game was even more of a blowout than the scoreboard showed. Dominant would be an understatement.
Jalen Hurts, who has had many detractors on his ascension to the top of the league came away with the Super Bowl MVP award. Hurts threw for 221 yards and 2 touchdowns while also being the game’s leader in rushing with 72 yards and a tush push touchdown.
The game served as payback for the Eagles who lost to the Chiefs in Super Bowl 57 38-35. While Patrick Mahomes legacy as an all-time great quarterback takes a brief pause from the Tom Brady trajectory, Jalen Hurts ensured that he will be given proper respect as one of the game’s best players going forward.
