Jacksonville Jaguars release Safety Rayshawn Jenkins and Cornerback Darious Williams for extra cap space.

Jacksonville Jaguars are freeing up cap space by cutting Safety Rayshawn Jenkins and Cornerback Darious Williams. Jaguars are looking to re-signing some key players in Pass Rusher Josh Allen and Wide Receiver Calvin Ridley. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence will also be up for negotiations soon.

Rayshawn Jenkins signed with Jacksonville in 2021 as a free agent after being drafted by the Chargers in the 4th round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Jenkins best seasons have come in the last two years with the Jaguars. He has had 217 tackles, 5 interceptions and 21 passes defensed those two years. Despite Jenkins playing his best, the Jags pass defense was anemic. Jenkins should be able to land on a team with a need at Safety.

Darious Williams went undrafted in 2018 and signed with Baltimore as a free agent. Williams later joined the Rams after being waived by Baltimore. Williams won the Super Bowl with the Rams in 2021, then in 2022 signed a 3-year 30 million dollar deal with the Jaguars. Williams best season came this last year in Jacksonville in which he tied his career highs in 53 tackles and 4 ints. Williams will provide depth to another secondary at this point in his career.
