Rams receiver officially ruled out for Week 1, per Adam Schefter.
The Los Angeles Rams receiving corps just got a lot worse. Cooper Kupp (hamstring) has been ruled out by head coach Sean McVay for this weekend’s matchup with the Seattle Seahawks. This is a major blow to the offense, but it was to be expected as Kupp was in Minnesota visiting a hamstring specialist on Monday. Sean McVay also said, “not to rule out” IR for the 2021 Super Bowl MVP, whether that is for the just the first four games to get him right, or for the season remains to be seen.
The Rams passing attack was already going to suffer without their leading target getter, but this is a boon for Tyler Higbee, a second favorite target for QB Matthew Stafford. As far as receivers go, Van Jefferson is set to be the WR1, which if that is the case, sounds like a stay away against an improved Seattle secondary.
Seattle also becomes an intriguing streaming defense this week. The possibility of turnovers and sacks increase with Stafford not able to find his safety blanket in Kupp. If they are still available in your league, pick them up for this matchup.
