Brock Purdy secures a 5-year, $265 million dollar contract with the 49ers that will pay him $53 million a season.
The 49ers have agreed to a massive 5-year, $265 million dollar extension that will pay Purdy $53 million a season. This deal has been a long time coming as Purdy has risen from the ranks of being Mr. Irrelevant in the 2022 NFL Draft to now the 49ers franchise quarterback for the foreseeable future.
Purdy was the QB14 in fantasy football in 2024 and threw for 3,864 passing yards (10th) and 20 touchdowns (15th). He ranked 1st in passing EPX (Explosive Rating) with a 126.1 score. The 49ers had poor injury luck with Christian McCaffrey, Brandon Aiyuk, and Ricky Pearsall all missing significant time along with Deebo Samuel having a down year.
Aside from Deebo Samuel, the rest of the aforementioned players are expected back healthy for the 2025 season. This also includes stud tight end George Kittle who recently signed a 4-year, $76 million contract. Purdy is being drafted at the 9-10 turn in Underdog best ball drafts as the QB12 off the board. All signs point to Purdy being a quality back end QB1 in 2025.
