Cowboys TE Brevyn Spann-Ford got the start in Week 6 over Jake Ferguson and played 47% of snaps vs Ferguson’s 52% of snaps. A week prior, Ferguson played 85% of snaps vs. Spann-Ford’s 33%. Spann-Ford was able to catch 4 passes (one more than his season total entering the game) for 35 yards with the expanded role, while Ferguson managed only 13 yards on 2 catches.

Similar or increased usage in Week 7 would indicate Spann-Ford’s stock is on the rise. It is possible Ferguson was just being punished for having two drops, including one that was subsequently intercepted, vs the Buccaneers in Week 5. Spann-Ford is one of the top blocking TE’s in football and his 1.44 YPRR is outpacing Ferguson’s 0.67. Fantasy football managers should keep an eye on the usage this week to see if Spann-Ford has indeed usurped Ferguson.
