Brandon Aiyuk
Brandon Aiyuk Expected to Start Season on PUP
3 weeks ago

Still recovering from a mid-season ACL tear, Brandon Aiyuk is a strong candidate to start the 2025 season on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk caused waves during the 2024 off-season, demanding a significant contract. The 49ers eventually caved and made Aiyuk one of the highest paid wide receivers in the NFL. The contract dispute cost a lot of the off-season for Aiyuk, which may have contributed to his lackluster play to start the season. Just when Fantasy managers thought they were seeing a corner turned Aiyuk in 2024, the wide receiver tore his ACL.

Now, with Brandon Aiyuk missing OTA’s, he is a strong candidate to start the 2025 season on the physically unable to perform list, and miss the first four games. He may miss more games. Even if he only misses four games, the expectation would be that he ramps up snap share, and participation of routes throughout the middle of the season.

From a Fantasy perspective, Brandon Aiyuk is not a target in redraft, given his lack of expected availability and prospects of a slow start. He may be a late round consideration for San Francisco 49ers bestball stacks. However, he is being drafted far too early for the value proposition to realistically pay off.
