Brandin Cooks Will Not Play in Week 2

Brandin Cooks will not be able to play in week two against the New York Jets due to an MCL Sprain.

The Cowboys will be without their No. 2 wide receiver this weekend when they face off against the New York Jets. Brandin Cooks suffered an MCL Sprain in their win last week against the New York Giants and won’t be able to suit up this weekend. That leaves Michael Gallup, Jalen Tolbert, and Kavontae Turpin to pick up the slack and more opportunities at the wide receiver position.

Unfortunately, an MCL sprain is likely a multi-week injury and the Cowboys could be without Cooks for the foreseeable future. With six 1000-yard receiving seasons in his career, Cooks’ production will be hard to replace on the roster. With the defense playing excellent as well, there likely won’t be a need for the Cowboys to air it out most weeks. As a result, none of these wide receivers besides CeeDee Lamb will be startable in fantasy formats. In deeper leagues, Gallup checks in as a WR4 with upside given his big play ability.
