Dallas Cowboys Veteran WR Designated to Return from IR

In an unfortunate series of events in early October Dallas Cowboys veteran WR, Brandin Cooks, was placed on IR. Cooks had been dealing with an injury to his knee since training camp. Following the Cowboys week 4 victory over the New York Giants, Cooks went in for a routine clean up on his injured knee. He was not slated to miss much time initially, but things quickly turned when he was diagnosed with an infection.

Now, following the procedure and antibiotic treatment, Cooks has been designated to return to the active roster. He rejoined the team this week and has been practicing in a limited fashion. It’s even possible that we see him make his return on Thanksgiving Day in the Cowboys second divisional match up against the Giants.

With Cooper Rush under center, I don’t expect a tremendous impact for fantasy owners. Rush has been barely capable of keeping alpha WR, CeeDee Lamb, a must start option. I don’t see Cooks diminishing Lamb’s value going further, but could impact KaVontae Turpin’s value as a deep league flex option. Though it’s great to see the veteran Cooks back on the field, he is nothing more than a roster clogger for your fantasy rosters.
