With the departure of Michael Gallup, the Dallas Cowboys expect 3rd year WR, Jalen Tolbert, to step up in a big way.
Everyone in the NFC East was especially busy during the off-season, except for the Dallas Cowboys, who must have felt pretty confident in their returning roster. One of these returning young players to keep an eye on is WR Jalen Tolbert, who will slide into the the WR3 role after Michael Gallup left to join the Raiders.
Drafted 88th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, Tolbert flashed enough out of college to get Dallas’ attention, despite coming from Southern Alabama. After getting injured and barely playing as a rookie, Tolbert had 22 catches for 268 yds and 2 TDs on 36 targets over 17 games last year. Teammate Brandin Cooks noted Tolbert’s growth when he recently said that “he’s going to crush it” next year. Cooks and CeeDee Lamb should command the majority of Dak’s targets this year, but in this pass-heavy Dallas offense, Tolbert will also get his share of opportunities. He is definitely worth a late-round flyer, especially in best-ball, should he live up to the hype going into year 3.
