Arizona tight end Trey McBride is the NFL’s TE1 while floundering amidst the Cardinals’ 3-7 season
The Arizona Cardinals got run out of their own stadium on Sunday, despite the best efforts of Jacoby Brissett’s connections with Michael Wilson and star pass-catcher Trey McBride.
Tight end McBride finished the game having tallied 10 catches (11 targets) for 115 yards. He added a trip to the endzone even as the Cardinals fell 41-22 to the visiting 49ers (7-4). It was just another day at the office for the tight end, who added a second-straight 100-yard performance to his season resume. More improbably, after accounting for just six touchdowns the previous three seasons combined, he notched his sixth touchdown in his last five games in 2025, giving him seven on the season.
In all likelihood, McBride will finish the week as TE1 (Jake Ferguson and Brock Bowers yet to play). McBride now has 71 catches on the season, a cool 15 more than any other tight end, as well as nearly 50 total fantasy points between he second place. Regardless of what happens this evening, the Colorado State product will maintain his stranglehold on the overall TE1 ranking for the season.
