Russell Wilson, Jimmy Garoppolo and Lessons Learned from NFL Week 2

by Tyler Strong, September 16, 2019

Allocate a healthy amount of FAAB to Raheem Mostert if he went unclaimed this past week, and search for Jeff Wilson this week. Running backs in the Shanahan system produce, and with a wide receiver group in constant flux, there is plenty room for these backs to continue to contribute in the passing game going forward.

Russell Wilson and Tyler Lockett remain must-starts, and D.K. Metcalf continues to make for an intriguing tournament play. Be sure to send out a trade offer for Chris Carson, who put the ball on the ground two times this week. Seattle is too bent on running the ball, so he won’t be in the doghouse for long.

The Long Gain: Bargain Running Backs to Target in Week 2

by Zach Krueger, September 15, 2019

Sony Michel’s Week 1 performance doesn’t give us much to be excited about, but he’s already enjoyed success against the Dolphins dating back to last season. He totaled 45 carries for 169 yards and one touchdown in two games against Miami, and was the RB16 in Week 4 when he posted 17.2 fantasy points.

Josh Jacobs had a coming out party to remember in his Week 1 performance against the Broncos. He took 23 carries for 85 yards and two touchdowns, while seeing eight red zone touches. He’s a bell cow back who was Top 10 in the league in rushing yards, carries, points and red zone touches.

Wide Receiver vs. Cornerback Matchups to Target: Week 2

by Jesse Reeves, September 15, 2019

Dede Westbrook headlined as a top wide receiver in the Week One edition of this series. Now, he finds his way back for another plus match-up in Week Two. After making the most of his opportunity against Kendall Fuller, he faces off against another struggling cornerback in Bradley Roby.

After last week, gamers should have a bit of comfort as to T.Y. Hilton’s usage and production going forward. Week Two brings a match-up that Hilton owners need to get excited about. Slated to line up across from Malcolm Butler, he is among this week’s top WR plays.

Tomorrow’s Newspaper: Parris Campbell and Waiver Wire Prescience for Week 2

by Ray Marzarella, September 15, 2019

Jacoby Brissett’s performance in Week 1 showed that he and the Colts offense will be fine. With an upcoming four-game stretch against the Titans, Falcons, Raiders and Chiefs, now is the time to acquire Parris Campbell with Devin Funchess sidelined.

One of the key metrics we look for in our slot receivers is elite agility. Ryan Switzer checks that box with a 10.77 (94th-percentile) Agility Score. Though he’s never recorded more than 67 receiving yards in an NFL game, there’s room for him to put up decent fantasy numbers with Ben Roethlisberger at the helm of the offense.

3 Scorching Hot DFS Takes: Week 2

by Kyle Dvorchak, September 14, 2019

Matt Breida has been nothing but efficient when he has taken the field. Last season Breida averaged 5.3 yards per carry on 153 attempts while adding 27 receptions at an 87.1-percent catch rate.

Robert Woods led the team with 13 targets and 98 air yards. Cooper Kupp followed closely behind in targets with 10 but at a much more shallow, 5 average depth of target. Kupp makes up for this with his immense share of the red zone work in LA.

Deploying Fantasy Football’s Most Volatile Receivers – Week 2

by Matthew M. Stevens, September 14, 2019

Cincinnati finally looks ready to unleash John Ross and see if he can live up to his potential. He played 93.8-percent of the snaps, ran 41 routes – one less than Tyler Boyd – and led the team with 12 targets. The result? Seven catches, 158 receiving yards and two TDs.

Terry McLaurin profiles as a legitimate rookie breakout candidate. He played 95-percent of the snaps, led the team in receiving with 125 yards, tied for second with seven targets and averaged an eye-popping 25.0 yards per reception. Furthermore, Case Keenum missed him on a potential 70-plus yard TD that would have been his second on the day.

Locked-In On Lamar: Lock Button Starts For Week 2

by Alex Johnson, September 13, 2019

Yes, it was just one game. And yes, I am well aware that it was against a putrid Miami Dolphins team. But did you see what Lamar Jackson did on Sunday?! Oh boy, we have ourselves a league-winner. Jackson torched the Dolphins for 324 yards and five touchdowns through the air.

No Antonio Brown, no problem. Tyrell Williams balled out in his Raiders debut. He had six receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown, proving he can be the team’s WR1. He was on the field for 92.6-percent of the snaps and held a 26.9-percent target rate, further solidifying himself as the true No.1. Williams averaged five yards per route run and accumulated 48 yards after the catch.

Who are the biggest busts in fantasy football right now?

by Granola Jeremy, September 13, 2019

Sony Michel rushed 15 times for a laughable 14 yards and 0.9 True YPC. Jameis Winston threw more touchdowns to the 49ers than he did to his own team. But, can fantasy owners trust Michel, Winston and other Week 1 fantasy busts in Week 2?

Jameis Winston took down O.J. Howard in week 1. Such is the life tethered to a boom-bust quarterback like Winston. Unfortunately for Howard, he also hurt his own fantasy performance with a fumble. At the 8-yard line no less. What’s nice is that Howard received 5 targets, including 1 in the red zone.

Cheap DFS Lineup Makers for Week 2

by Taylor Smith, September 12, 2019

Gardner Minshew entered Week 1 and melted faces by completing 88 percent of pass attempts for 275 yards and 2 scores. He was the most accurate passer of Week 1 with an 11.5 Accuracy Rating and is facing a porous Texans defense that just cut one of their starting corners. Stack him with slot receiver Dede Westbrook and count your money.

If not the Jaguars, a Raiders stack makes sense against a generous Chiefs defense. Both Tyrell Williams and Darren Waller are criminally underpriced following breakouts in Week 1. This matchup has the highest total on the slate at 52.5, so targeting this game is sharp.

DraftKings Value Plays and GPP Pivots – Week 2

by Matthew Gajewski, September 12, 2019

Looking at Christian Kirk’s volume, he played on 96.1-percent of Arizona’s snaps, recording 11 targets in the process. Kirk only managed to snag four of them for 32 yards, but a mere seven came in as catchable. Notably, Kirk also saw 139 air yards on his targets, showing some usage downfield.

While all three of the Bengals played at least 30-percent of their snaps in the slot, Tyler Boyd’s 42.9-percent slot rate led the team. This means he should face sieve slot corner, Williams at the highest rate. With ownership likely to congregate on Ross, Boyd looks like a sneaky pivot in cash and GPPs.
