LaFleur is a true teller. Having stated that Tyler Allgeier will function strictly in a complementary role supported by an elite 85.5 pass-blocking grade, Allgeier was demoted in Week 7. With Jeremiyah Love sidelined due to an ankle injury, coach LaFleur relied on a backfield committee against the Denver Broncos, led by Zonovan Knight.

Allgeier logged 35 snaps compared to Knight’s 40 snaps. Knight also ran 24 routes compared to to Allgeier’s 17 routes run. Knight turned seven carries into 48 yards alongside three receptions, out-gaining teammate Allgeier across most efficiency metrics. Moving forward, Allgeier maintains pass-protection utility, while Knight will continue to demand significant early-down work in Love’s absence.
