After missing the Kansas City Chiefs 2023 opening loss to the Detroit Lions, TE Travis Kelce has done “a good job”, and “as long as nothing happens” he will suit-up and play in Week 2 as the Chiefs travel to Jacksonville, according to Andy Reid, via Nate Taylor on Twitter.
A knee injury suffered in practice leading up to the Chiefs’ first game was responsible for Kelce being sidelined as the Lions upset the Chiefs by a single point. Kelce should be ready for week 2, barring a setback, but seemed ready and in good spirits during the team’s second week practices, even popping up in a social media video that saw him feigning a limp before laughing and running across the practice field.
Kelce, the Chiefs’ primary receiving option and a consistent top-performer in fantasy should be inserted back into all lineups. Projections for wide receivers Rashee Rice and Kadarius Toney, and tight end Noah Gray, all of whom received a team-leading 5 targets against Detroit, as well as WR Skyy Moore and TE Blake Bell, should return to their previous levels.
